I'm saying it wasn't given at all...enemies trying to kill Naruto was just an assumption made by Minato about why Hiruzen didn't tell Naruto who his Dad was.(Based off what he knew about the secrecy around Kushina being Jinchuuriki)

Uzumaki Menma had nothing to do with Sasuke...he was an evil Alternate Naruto whose parents never died

Well I think the reason was valid.......okay here are my points tell me if you agree....

1. As far as naming was concerned the clans you mentioned were hidden clans who specialized in their jutsus..... so he couldn't be put in one of those...but a rather inconspicuous surname would have been better than the legendary Uzumakis.

2. The village was shaken up and was recovering so Minato's enemy attacking Naruto to take Kyubi as well as use Naruto as a bargaining chip was a high probability.

3. Maybe and thats a maybe Hiruzen himself didn't know what to do with Naruto....I mean he kept records of Naruto but he didn't know that Jiraiya was training him or anything.

first one i was just giving examples.How about haruno or Umino(it wont look good but it would have hid naruto's identity). they donot belong to any clan.
second one that's purely plot. Tobi should have come next day to steal kid naruto.
