Should Sakura Have Learned Genjutsu Instead of Medical Ninjutsu?

Both actually, sakura could have easily learned both but it seems she was the least developed of the trio

Agree. She had the chakra control needed to be near an Uchiha level and with Kurenai preggers I thought Kishi was going there.

With all the mentioning of her CC I thought so too but it seems that was just for the medical stuff.

Yeah, she definitely should have been trained but I feel that was avoided because Kishi wanted Sasuke had to have the genjutsu feats for Team 7.

It would have been way more interesting to see her get trained by Kurenai rather than Tsuande too.

I have been telling this for a long time. All that hype about her being originally a genjutsu type and Kishi just made her a Tsunade clone. There was a part at the beginning of the rescue Gaara arc where she mentioned she wanted to find Itachi before Sasuke to share the burden of his revenge. I thought at that point that Kishi might allow her to venture off for a short stint on her own to find him.

Once she did he could have told her the truth (off panel as to not ruin the Itachi is a good guy reveal to readers) and the. Offer to train her in genjutsu as a way to help Naruto bring Sasuke back as it were. Then when she finally met up with Sasuke instead of being all helpless and having to get rescued when he attacks her she bursts into Sakura petals and Sasuke realizes he's in a genjutsu fight.

Then Kakashi and Naruto can arrive when he starts to overcome her advance genjutsu.... I should make a fanfic of this XD

I agree with everything you said but one thing in the beginning series sakura did not have the best chakra control neji did she the best out of the normal people one struggle to send chakra to their forehead wow the acontrol over all his chakra points

Hyuga's naturally have good chakra control. Even Hinata. But Sakura did have excellent chakra control. As Kakashi mentioned when they did the running up the tree test. Naruto and Sasuke took a few days to get the hang of it and Sakura was already hanging upside down after Kakashi explained what to do but once. She was/is exceptional at chakra control even by Hyuga standards. There's no need to downplay her in this as well.

I guess Kishimoto didn't know where to take her and then gave up.

She should've mastered both. Genjutsu and Medical Ninjutsu is a deadly combination. Plus, she should've learned more Taijutsu, so she could more than just punch people. If Kishi would've developed her more, instead of making her a crybaby who was obsessed over a guy, who tried to murder her, Sakura could've been one of the top best characters. But nope, Kishi crapped on her like it was nothing.

Sakura should've also been a Senju as well.

Viz databook had her right there with Neji in chakra control (hand signs) and above Hinata in chakra control and intelligence. The girl was top of the rookie 9. Shame. Wasted potential.
