Acknowledging someone's race is not the same as being racist and don't let people who don't know how to use the word correctly make you feel any type of way. People need to understand a majority of the time they're simply being used as identifiers, descriptive adjectives to help clarify the subject. Of course it all depends on the context of the rest of the thought.
