Sidious craps on any other Sith Lord character in terms of power. That's not debatable.
Second would probably be Darth Caedus, since he was somewhat stalemating Luke Skywalker in saber combat, and Luke is the most powerful character of the Star Wars franchise.
Right, in a straight fight Plageus would likely win. Sidious killed him in his sleep, but there's also rumor that Plageus survived and is the villain of the new trilogy. Plageus had more versatility and skill but there's an indication that Sidious beat him. Also Vader is stronger but his weak will could open a possibility of Sidious swaying him with words giving him an opening to take him down. I also saw a good theory(though unlikely) that says Snoke is Vader, because if you compare the scars from when he takes his helmet off as an old man they match up pretty well with Snokes.
Puh-lease, bro. Not only does Palpatine have the feats, he was also stated to be the most powerful numerous times.
Sidious equals the most powerful Sith Lord who has ever lived:
Yoda went after Palpatine in the empty Senate chamber, but could not defeat the most powerful Sith Lord in history.

Darth Sidious proved to be the grim culmination of a thousand years of Sith philosophy and teachings.

When the Sith finally emerged from a thousand years of watching and waiting, they numbered—in accordance with the tradition set down by Darth Bane—only two. The most powerful of these was Darth Sidious, an ice-cold, diabolically calculating genius equipped with the strength of the dark side of the Force, as well as an enormous wealth of Sith artifacts, equipment, and knowledge.
--Taken from The Dark Side Sourcebook
And then there was Palpatine, of course: he was beyond power. He showed nothing of what might be within. Though seen with the eyes of the dark side itself, Palpatine was an event horizon. Beneath his entirely ordinary surface was absolute, perfect nothingness. Darkness beyond darkness. A black hole of the Force.

Plagueis made a soothing gesture and explained in great detail what had taken place. Concluding, he said, "He threatened, too, to place you out of reach."
All the while Plagueis spoke, Palpatine was storming through circles on the narrow path, shaking his head in anger and balling his fists. "He can't do this!" he snarled. He hasn't the right! I won't allow it!"
Palpatine's fury buffeted Plagueis. Blossoms growing along the sides of the pathway folded in on themselves, and their pollinators began to buzz in agitation. FourDee reacted, as well, wobbling on its feet, as if in the grip of a powerful electromagnet. Had this human truly been born of flesh-and-blood parents? Plagueis asked himself. When, in fact, he seemed sprung from nature itself. Was the Force so strong in him that it had concealed itself?

Palpatine has spent decades studying the most arcane and esoteric Jedi disciplines. It is believed that he has mastered nearly all the known powers, previously unknown powers, and devises new ones at his pleasure.

-Revenge of the Sith novel, Sidious is faster than Anakin's eye.
Anakin has reacted to ships moving at sub-light speed, according to the same novel:
Obi-Wan was already making that exact move as Anakin spoke. But they were inverted to each other: breaking right shot him one way while Anakin whipped the other. The tri-fighters' cannons ripped space between them, tracking faster than their starfighters could slip. His onboard threat display chimed a warning: two of the droids had remote sensor locks on him. The others must have lit up his partner. "Anakin! Slip-jaws!"
"My thought exactly."
They blew past the tri-fighters, looping in evasive spirals. The droid ships wrenched themselves into pursuit maneuvers that would have killed any living pilot. The slip-jaws maneuver was named for the scissorlike mandibles of the Kashyyyk slash-spider. Droids closing rapidly on their tails, cannonfire stitching space on all sides, the two Jedi pulled their ships through perfectly mirrored rolls that sent them streaking head-on for each other from opposite ends of a vast Republic cruiser. For merely human pilots, this would be suicide. By the time you can see your partner's starfighter streaking toward you at a respectable fraction of lightspeed, it's already too late for your merely human reflexes to react.
But these particular pilots were far from merely human.
The Force nudged hands on control yokes and the Jedi starfighters twisted and flashed past each other belly-to-belly, close enough to scorch each other's paint.

Palpatine has also disposed of his victims so quickly they appeared to be dispatched by a phantom. He has moved so fast during his duel with Luke that Leia couldn't even see him and could only sense him as a blur of Dark Side energy.
*Plagueis can cast Force Lightning. Sidious has arguably the most powerful Force Lightning, reducing three sorcerers that revived Maul to ash instantly, owned countless Stormtroopers and bodyguards and what not. He can control it in a fight so it hits enemies.
*Plagueis wields two sabers and is adept in combat. Sidious is a master of the seven lightsaber forms, all their stances, and is ambidextrous. Once again, due to superior speed he would own Plagueis.
*Sidious has mastered every single Dark Side Force Power except for Midi-Chlorian Manipulation, and invented new ones at his whim. He creates Wormholes that rip through time-space continuum and destroy planets/moons/fleets/send people across the galaxy etc.

I don't think Ren's actually a Sith, not yet anyway. He doesn't have a "darth" code name, and has shown none of the dark side force traits. I think Snoke is just stringing him along, Snoke seemed to not trust Ren wouldn't give into his Light Side connection and as a result I think he's purposefully hindering Ren's progression.

You could make a list exactly like that for every sith lord, he was just the one given the most attention. There's a reason he was scared shitless of anyone who showed dark prowess and resorted to slaughtering everyone before they could reach their prime.
^ Please go ahead and give me feats of every Sith Lord creating wormholes that wipe out fleets and threaten planets. Please go ahead and give me feats of every Sith Lord that can instantly kill with Lightning, that can move at sub-lightspeed, that has mastered EVERY saber style ever, that creates new styles like that, that absorbs life from 20 BILLION people, that has only lost to the most powerful character of the galaxy.

*Sidious has also studied under countless holocrons and knows some Light Side techniques.
*Sidious' presence turned a world of lush life into a Dark Side nexus.
*Dooku described Sidious as a Black Hole in the Force.
*Sidious mind-wiped twenty billion beings effortlessly, and has effortlessly dominated the minds of those with telepathic resistance.
*Sidious drained an entire world's worth of population, equal to twenty billion.
*Sidious' presence caused an imbalance in the Force.
*Sidious was so strong in the Force that the Force hid itself from others in him. When he had no formal training in the ways of the Force, Plagueis was unable to scan him.
If you're too lazy to read that all, read this shortened version:
- Creating Force Storms capable of destroying fleets of ships and devastating the surfaces of planets
- Surviving as a spirit whenever his body is killed and traveling as a spirit across lightyears of space
- Making the planet Byss a dark side nexus
- Siphoning the life energies of the nearly 20 billion inhabitants on Byss
- Telepathically subjugating the wills of nearly 20 billion beings on Byss, erasing the memories of millions
- Coruscant, and inducing fear into thousands of Jedi across the galaxy
- Projecting Force Lightning capable of scorching Sithspawn to ash, burning people to skeletons, and contorting lightsaber blades
- Causing the Force to become imbalanced to blind the Jedi's perceptions
- Hiding his Force sensitivity from the most powerful Jedi in the Order
- Perceiving events and eventualities throughout the galaxy
- Altering the tides of battles by influencing armies and fleets
- Controlling midi-chlorians to sustain life
- Moving his lightsaber too fast to be seen by Jedi who can react to lightning bolts and ships flying at sublight speeds
...plus:
- via Lightning, he bent lightsaber blades, killed legions of soldiers, burnt people to skeletons, scorched Sithspawn to ash, etc.
- via Telekinesis, he easily pulled down ceilings, could destroy buildings, killed other powerful Force sensitives, etc.
- via Telepathy, he manipulated billions of minds, affected countless Jedi, communicated across the galaxy, etc.
- via Storm, he destroyed the surfaces of planets, ravaged fleets of ships, transported beings to other planets, etc.
- via Essence Transfer, he traveled across the galaxy, needed no host to escape Chaos, possessed other Force sensitives, etc.
- via Speed, he moved faster than other Jedi/Sith could see, fought armies, deflected fire from hordes of droids, etc.
- via Dark Rage, he smashed people's skulls, tore people's bodies apart, shrugged off a ton of weight, etc.
- via Battle Meditation, he controlled fleets and armies
- via Concealment, he hid his dark side power from thousands of Jedi for decades, stood in the Jedi Council chamber without being detected, etc.
- via Drain, he siphoned the life energies of billions
- via Sith alchemy, he create chrysalides, Imperial sentinels, shadow droids, etc.
Please for the love of god, give me legitamte proof of when this happened, half of the things you're saying don't make any sense as Sidious was never given much attention outside the movies bar his origin story.
He was overwhelmed in light saber combat nearly every time he fought and had to resort to his force techniques.....Partially due to his age but we never see him in combat in his prime really, except for the fact that he KNEW he couldn't kill his former master fairly.
1. Learn how to quote. It's embarrassing. You've been here 1.5 years.
2. You're the one getting worked up over this. I already told you rankings are subjective, yet here you are typing up novels of things I've already read.
3. You clearly don't understand the rep system.
4. It's amazing that you can read so much legacy canon and still misunderstand so much.

What the hell? You were the one who said you're not only limited to the movies, yet you're asking me where I took them all from? Those are feats from numerous canon sources, novels, encyclopedias, sourcebooks, works outside of media like games and movies. I've put some of the sources in the quotes in my longer post. If you're asking how I know all this, it's because I've had the same argument on another site that's much more focused than Narutobase when it comes to Star Wars power rankings, so I know what I'm talking about.
Also ''hurr this character wins'' means nothing since you can't support it. You have literally given zero feats. Think what you want, but Sidious has both the feats and hype to support him being the most powerful Sith.

Dude... there is no ''legacy canon''. There is canon and non-canon. Everything I typed is recognized as canon and is therefore applicable to Palpatine/Sidious. You having absolutely zero counters to anything is another thing. And of course that guy likes your posts, both you and him have no real points.
But I guess it's my fault from expecting arguments backed by feats about Star Wars from Narutobase after all. Peace.
