Kind of a hefty cliffhanger last time. We’ll see if this doesn’t make up for it*_* lol As always, enjoy:)

Here’s my previous chapters, for those who missed any:

Chapter 097: Counterattack

On the opposite side of the mountain range overlooking the samurai fortress, a large band of shinobi from the Rock Village looked on in admiration at the new leader’s latest exploits. Harnessing the strength which made him so famous throughout the continent, Ryoku sank his massive hands beneath another chunk of rock that towered nearly a hundred feet above him, lifting it over his head with the same amount of effort a normal strongman might need to lift a three-hundred pound dumbbell, enticing a synchronized awe from his men while his right-hand observed what was happening at the fortress from afar after briefly checking a newly sent message on his phone.

????: Lord Tsuchikage…it’s seem that they’re pushing back your first boulder.

Ryoku: (He stepped forward slowly, his efforts too focused on holding the giant rock up to even turn his head towards him.) Mmmmf, can’t say I’m surprised, Shinteki. Not with their caliber of shinobi…but I think I have the perfect solution for that!

Sinking his opposite foot several inches into the ground behind him, he heaved the massive boulder over the peak of the mountains, aimed once again at the stronghold resting on the other side.

Dust quickly spread out across the room as the boulder connected with the floor, removing Manako from everyone’s view and leaving them to wonder if he perished beneath its weight. The boulder towered over the cloud of dust, but to the surprise of everyone, it hadn’t broken apart on impact, prompting Airon to teleport to Nakama, courtesy of the mark he left on her hand, before doing so again with the kunai he’d previously left Manako. To their immense shock and relief, he and the unconscious girl at his feet were otherwise unscathed, protected by the partial incarnation of Susanoo holding back the boulder with its four arms.

Airon: Hoo, thank God!

Manako: Just shut up and help me move this thing!!

In no position to help move an object of that size, Airon stepped aside to allow Nakama past, her hair already beginning to thrash about in reaction to the use of her powers. Within seconds, the weight – quite literally – on Susanoo’s shoulders had been drastically reduced, allowing Manako to lift the boulder higher until it was once again past the enormous hole it had made in the fortress roof, allowing him to release it and let it roll down the outside wall. Both Manako and Nakama caught themselves as they fell over in exhaustion, the former clutching his right arm in pain as blood trickled down it, leaving Airon to wonder amusedly if treating it was the only purpose he had being there.

Manako: Huhhh…huhh, thanks for the help.

Nakama: (She held her hand up as if to politely refuse his gratitude.) Huhhh…don’t mention it. …Huhh, where did-

Gaara: ANOTHER ONE INCOMING!!! RIGHT OVER-

Before Gaara’s warning could even reach their ears, the roof directly above the other end of the room, where the remaining forces had moved to avoid the first boulder, caved in under the weight of the second, sending rubble crashing down on the otherwise unaware shinobi. Before the giant rock could do the same, though, it was caught and pushed back by their very own regimental commanders, the elder of the two encased within his Perfect Susanoo, while the younger had entered his Tailed Beast form, both enraged by the culprit’s apparent ability to detect the location of their forces within the building.

Naruto: Rrrrgh, those bastards!!

Sasuke: They’ll keep coming! Everyone, keep your guards up!!

While those conscious and standing quickly evacuated the room, a small portion of the medical division stayed behind to tend any who had been wounded in the two previous bombardments, along with a handful of elite shinobi who possessed some sort of means to hold off any future boulders. The only one remaining otherwise was Airon, tending carefully to Manako’s arm as his mind remained fixated on Sasuke’s words of caution. Realizing something had to be done beyond fending off the attacks, he stood up and grabbed Nakama’s hand again, much to her surprise.

Nakama: Airon.

Airon: (Paying her reaction little mind, he tossed a marked kunai through the hole made by the first boulder before helping her to her feet.) Come on. We’re taking a walk outside.

In a fraction of a second, they were gone from the room, leaving Manako sitting there blankly before he realized the wound on his arm had not been fully healed.

Manako: Hey, hold on a second!

On the roof, Airon and Nakama gazed off into the distance towards the mountains – the source of the boulders as estimated by the former – the ever-present blizzard making it difficult to do anything beyond that for lack of vision.

Airon: Can you put a stop to this wind?

Nakama: Give me a challenge, why don’t you?

Her hair began fluttering about once again, synchronizing its movements with the wind until the latter eventually came to a halt, allowing them a clearer view of the immediate vicinity just as a third boulder became visible in the distance.

Airon: Think you can catch that!?

Nakama: (Startled by its size, she found herself unable to respond for a moment.) I-I dunno! Manako was helping with the last one and this one’s even bigger!

Airon: Well, you have to try!!

Her previous feat and current task of holding back the wind proved an already tremendous toll on her stamina, but with her allies and loved ones at stake, she found the strength to bring the massive chunk of earth to a shrieking halt in midair. Ceasing her control of the wind to provide her with ample strength, she moved it a brief distance away from the fortress before allowing it to plummet the rest of the way to the ground, nearly doing the same if Airon hadn’t been there to catch her.

Airon: There, see? You got it.

Nakama: (She smiled up at him through her heavy breaths.) Huhhh…huhh…Airon!!

Though the wind made it difficult to see, a fourth boulder was indeed making its way over the mountaintop, briefly robbing even Airon of any hope to stopping it – doubts amplified even further by the now exhausted Nakama.

Nakama: I can’t do it, Airon!! I barely held back that one and I’m running low just keeping the wind steady! It’s impossi-

Airon: (He squeezed her hand in anger.) Nothing is impossible, Nakama!!

His yelling brought her protests to a temporary halt, just long enough for her to notice the enormous wave of energy flowing from his hand into her own, leaving her rejuvenated as his hand assumed a gentler, more affectionate grip.

Airon: You’ve got this…trust me.

Looking up into his eyes for a brief moment with childish wonder, she found the courage to match his smile before looking back at the obstacle before her with newfound determination. The wind once again came to a halt as her hair resumed its random movements, the boulder doing the same at a much faster pace than before as Airon looked on with a wicked grin etched across his face.

Airon: There you go! Now keep it steady for me!

Nakama quickly answered with a nod as he skipped across the air towards the giant mound of earth floating in front of them, pulling out multiple kunai along the way and jabbing them into various spots all throughout it, fitting each of an explosive tag before returning to her side via Flying Raijin.

Airon: Now send it back!!

With one strong push that almost instantly robbed her of all the strength Airon had provided her with, she sent the boulder flying back in the direction it came from, where an unknowing Ryoku lifted yet another one to be thrown in due time.

Ryoku: Rrrrgh…huhh, okay. Word from our contact, Shinteki?

Shinteki: (He stared briefly at his phone before gazing back down at the fortress below.) Nothing yet, sir. I’m still waiting for…Fifth, watch out!! It’s coming back!!

Witnessing it himself just in time, Ryoku impulsively threw the boulder he’d just picked up, sending it crashing into the returning one and cutting off its advance. Not privy to the tags Airon had placed around it, however, the resulting explosion sent large pieces of the former flying back towards them, forcing them to move swiftly to avoid being mashed against the mountainside. When the danger had seized, they all emerged from their points of safety and peered down in unison at the samurai fortress.

Shinteki: That’s impossible…how did they do that?

Ryoku: (He clenched his massive hands in anger, though his voice reflected a newfound sense of vulnerability.) Who’s to say? …Start moving everyone back. It seems we don’t have the advantage we thought we did.

Shinteki: (He stared down at him in shock, having never received such remarks from him before, until he finally complied with a nod.) FALL BACK!!! We’re returning to the Land of Earth now!!

Apart from a brief hesitation brought on by their lingering amazement at what just transpired, the other shinobi obeyed immediately and without question, signifying the deep loyalty each one had towards their new Kage. Ironic, perhaps, that Ryoku seemed to be the only one questioning himself at the time, a feeling Shinteki caught wind of and sought to purge as he gazed back towards the mountaintop rapidly shrinking in the distance.

Shinteki: They must’ve suffered heavy casualties, Ryoku, and the majority had to be from the division containing most of our defectors. …And unless they caught onto our spy, we haven’t lost a single shinobi. So I say we’ve accomplished our goal.

It was a fine point on Shinteki’s part, one the young Kage couldn’t help nodding in agreement with. The image of his own projectile soaring back towards him, though, refused to leave his mind, nor could he shake the feeling that even more of his past and future decisions would ultimately betray him.

Inside the gathering room of the fortress, those already found amongst the rubble were quickly taken to a separate area for treatment as volunteers wore away at the rubble scattered on either side of the room in search of other survivors. Among them were both Minto and Taigen, as per the behest of the former’s father, holding up a large chunk of stone as another aid dragged a severely injured Rain shinobi out from underneath it. In the midst of doing so, Minto became too overwhelmed by exhaustion and collapsed, leaving Taigen struggling to hold the rubble up himself until both the shinobi and Minto’s head were clear of it, at which point he dropped it and fell to the floor, reverting to his canine form in the process.

Minto: Huhh…huhh…huhh, goddamn…Taigen, you okay?

Taigen: (Lying still and panting for nearly a minute, he finally hoisted himself up again.) …Nnngghh, huhhh…been better.

Minto: (He smiled in amusement and rubbed the back of Taigen’s neck.) Hm, yeah.

????: Father! Father!! Come on, get up!! …Somebody help me!! He won’t wake up!!

Minto: (He spun around trying to get a fix on the voice’s source, eventually finding a young black-haired kunoichi kneeling amongst the rubble a short distance away.) Shit. Go find a medical-nin quick. Airon or Lady Sakura, preferably.

As Taigen took off, he stood up and ran over to her with what strength he could still muster, beckoning her to step back as he knelt down in front of the middle-aged man lying before her. The blood slowly leaking from the back of his head and the small pool of it already gathered around him prompted him to expect the worst, allowing him to sigh with relief after placing two fingers beneath his chin.

Minto: Okay. He’s still got a pulse. He was hit pretty bad by the rubble, though. How about you?

Upon further inspection, it was obvious the young girl had suffered many bruises herself during the attack, but apart from some minor inconsistencies – she was missing a sandal and one of her long pigtails had been robbed of its hairband – she appeared okay. She looked just slightly younger than him, and from her flak jacket was obviously a defector from the Land of Earth, which brought her even more regard from Minto than her apparent selflessness. Having heard her refer to the unconscious man as her father, he estimated that his intervention was what spared her from more critical injuries, an assessment that led him to stare down at the man with intense admiration.

????: Uhh, I’m fine, I guess. Just please, help him!

Minto: (He eyed the man’s body thoroughly, coming to the conclusion that the wounds on his head and chest were the only ones potentially life-threatening.) I’ll do what I can. Medical ninjutsu’s not my specialty, but I know enough about first aid to perhaps keep him stable. I’ve got a buddy of mine looking for more experienced help, though, in case this is more critical than it looks.

It was by no means a reassuring evaluation, but the determination with which he delivered it and his swiftness in beginning the emergency procedure gave the girl enough hope to nod. Instructing her to hold a piece of gauze against his chest to hold back the blood, he quickly went to work on healing the wound on his head, finding to his relief that it was shallow and easy to close up for even someone of his experience. The chest wound, on the other hand, appeared to be directly over a lung – perhaps even the heart – but as his main priority was only to avoid a bleeding out until a professional arrived, this did little to deter his coolness about the situation. He determined the best method for this to be clotting the walls of the gash, a simple procedure he made quick time on as he looked around the partially destroyed room.

Minto: (The boulders didn’t even hit and we still took some huge damage. …Thank God Airon and Nakama were here.)

He attempted to look up at the hole through which he saw them venture outside to stop the oncoming boulders, but he barely arched his neck before a small fountain of blood darted into view, prompting him to look down in shock as the man started convulsing terribly.

Minto: Shit! He’s got internal bleeding! ...Taigen, where the hell are you!!?

????: Father!!

He shot her a glance as the exclamation left her lips, immediately regretting it. The panic on her face and the tears in her eyes were such a painstaking combination that it caused him to freeze, forgetting both his miniscule training and the fact that he was keeping the man before him alive with it. He sat there, trembling in fear until a hand found on his shoulder, the sight of its owner’s face prompting him to arch back as relief washed over him.

Minto: Hoo, Lady Shizune!

Shizune: (She pushed him softly out of the way and quickly held her chakra-coated hands over the man’s chest to finish what he started.) It’s alright! I’ll take over from here!

Minto: (He fell back to the ground and ran his hands over his face.) Huhhh, thank God.

Minto and Taigen sat by for a good ten minutes as Shizune closed up the man’s wounds, the end result looking as if he’d never been harmed at all. When his breathing had finally returned to normal, she wiped her forehead and turned to the girl to give her the good news.

Shizune: He’ll be alright, Ayashi. The bleeding’s stopped and he’s already breathing again, so just give some time and he’ll regain consciousness.

Ayashi: (She placed her hand over her heart and heaved a sigh of relief as tears of joy ran down her face.) …Thank you, Miss Shizune.

Shizune: (She merely smiled and shook her head before turning to look at Minto.) Hmhm, don’t thank me. Thank him for keeping him stable until I arrived. Without him, he might’ve been lost before I even arrived.

She was quick to leave upon affirming his health one more time, clearly intent on giving Ayashi a chance to thank Minto on her own. The latter caught on and smirked in her direction before turning to Ayashi. The immediate matter of tending to her father now taken care of, she took on a far more shy and soft-spoken persona, complete with total lack of eye contact and twiddling her thumbs as she clasped her hands together. Displaying gratitude was clearly not in her reservoir of skills, a task that Minto, somewhat harshly, relieved her of with a wave of his hand.

Minto: Don’t even sweat it. I would’ve done it for anyone.

Ayashi: (She expressed surprise before lowering her head.) Oh…okay.

Minto: (Noticing her discomfort, he smiled and held out his hand, calling back to mind his analysis of her uniform.) You’re from the Rock Village, aren’t you? I’m Minto from the Leaf, First Division.

Ayashi: (Surprised again by his friendliness, she hesitantly shook his hand.) Um, Ayashi. Same-same division.

Minto: Hm, alright. Guess we’ll be shipping out together soon, then.

Ayashi: (She managed the softest smile in response.) Yeah…guess so.

With no further progression to their conversation in sight, Ayashi skittered out of the room, seemingly forgetting that her father was still laying a few feet away recovering. Amused, Minto stood up and quietly walked away in hopes of dampening the awkwardness of her inevitable return. It wasn’t until he heard a faint humming to his side that he remembered Taigen had been beside him the entire time, and he proceeded to push his hand against the ninken’s snout to put an end to his taunting. From the balcony overhead, Konohamaru witnessed his grandson’s heroic efforts in full, gazing over them with a prideful grin as he awaited Gaara’s report of conditions outside the fort.

Konohamaru: Is it over?

Gaara: (He removed his hand from his eye, signifying the deactivation of his Third Eye technique.) …It appears they’ve stopped. Perhaps they’re gathering their strength.

Naruto: Or…maybe they were scared off.

The two looked over at Naruto in curiosity, finding him staring up at the hole on the far side of the room with his trademark grin. At the source of his gaze was his own grandson, carefully descending through the air with his own trademark technique as an exhausted Nakama rode on his back. Several dozen pairs of eyes around the room joined him, all of them slowly becoming aware of who put a stop to the horrific massacre that had just ensued.

Nearly three hours passed before the area was finally cleared of any surviving shinobi, leaving only those willing enough to carry out the task of excavating the dead from the rubble. When all was said and done, the leader of the medical-nin who took on this gruesome duty met with their leaders to report their losses.

Sakura: We were lucky. Those boulders could’ve taken out thousands without the Kazekage’s warning, and even more without Airon and Nakama’s intervention. …By our estimate, we’ve lost roughly four hundred in total. A handful more counting those are too injured to fight any time soon.

Konohamaru: (He clenched his fist as the other rubbed his eyes in irritation.) Even one is a huge loss. …I wanna know how Ryoku knew we’d be here.

Shikamaru: And how did he know where to throw the boulders? One fell directly over the first division and the second fell over the entire army once they moved across the room. That can’t have been a coincidence.

Naruto: No, it wasn’t! Just ask THIS little prick!

Everyone on the balcony immediately turned around as Naruto and Sasuke came marching up to them, each grasping ahold of one side of a middle-aged shinobi donning Rock Village attire. They threw him to the ground as a handful of other shinobi came up behind them, seemingly those responsible for reporting his actions.

Naruto: I was wrong! There WAS some negative emotion coming from inside this room, but I was too caught up with the huge wave of it coming from the mountains!

Sasuke: (He held up a small cell phone previously handed to him.) He must’ve come here with the other refugees. He’s been texting information to the Tsuchikage ever since.

Shikamaru: (He stood there with his arms crossed, staring down at the traitor with growing ferocity.) That’s how he knew the first division would be their primary opponent when the war started, which is why he targeted them first. And that’s how he knew exactly which side of the fortress to target.

Sasuke: (He dropped the phone in the front of the traitor before stomping on it, causing him to cower back in fear.) He texted them again immediately after everyone moved to the other end of the room. That’s how he got caught.

Shikadai: (He ran his hand over the top of his head in frustration.) Texting enemy information…it’s ingenious.

Shikamaru: (He gripped his forearms as a feeling of guilt swept over him.) And obvious. I should’ve predicted a method like this being used. This is my fault.

Temari: (She set her hand on his shoulder upon seeing his expression.) This is a new technology, something we never even dreamed of having during our generation. …It’s just old instincts.

It was a valid point on her part, but not enough to make this outcome any less of a foresight in Shikamaru’s eyes. He just stood there, looking down at the traitor with a stare cold enough to freeze hydrogen, each second under his gaze bringing the man closer and closer to tears of admission. It fell entirely upon him, as the supreme commander of the regiment, to decide how to move forward, and with the thoughts of the dead in mind, he gave his next order without remorse.

Shikamaru: Make him an example.

Naruto: Like hell!

A stomp on the ground that caused the whole balcony to quake was all it took to stop the shinobi behind him in their tracks. Even Sasuke and Sakura, who knew him better than anyone, were forced to turn towards him with wide eyes, surprised by the level of fury he was unleashing on Shikamaru.

Naruto: You want him to be an example to our enemy!? Fine, we throw him in a prison! Send him back home when the war is over! THERE’S an example! God, Shikamaru, what the hell is wrong with you!?

Those present who looked to Shikamaru through the duration of his rant were surprised to find little to no reaction on his face. He hardly even bothered to blink until he’d heard one pant too many from Naruto after he finished, at which point he turned back to the still cowering traitor.

Shikamaru: Yeah…yeah, you’re right. Prepare some escorts to deliver him to Hōzuki Castle and let’s move past this. We’ve still got a war to fight here.

The shinobi quickly picked him up and took him away as relief washed over his face. A quick glance from Sasuke cleared the balcony of everyone else, leaving only a guilt-ridden Shikamaru and a still seething Naruto to confront one another.

Shikamaru: I’m sorry, Naruto.

Naruto: (He shot him a quick glance, having no desire to even look his way.) For trying to have him killed or for almost breaking your promise?

It didn’t take him long to realize the shame was already weighing heavily on his old friend’s heart without his rekindling, making short of his anger as he also began to feel guilt for all that had transpired.

Naruto: Temari was right, you know. No one from our generation would’ve thought for a second they would use phones to sneak information back to them. …We’re dealing with a new age of warfare. It was naïve to think they’d be so easy to deal with…and maybe I was, too, thinking saving everyone would be so easy.

At this, Shikamaru couldn’t help but look up with a raised eyebrow. It was a notion he’d only heard from him once before, the look of defeat etched across his face being equally rare. In spite of the graveness of the events that just occurred, it was with much amusement that he smiled and rested his hand on Naruto’s shoulder, prompting him to look up.

Shikamaru: Hey, come on. Don’t start doubting yourself now. …That’s certainly not the Naruto Uzumaki I know.

It was Naruto’s turn to look up in amusement, half-expecting a similar remark from him. Nonetheless, it was exactly what he needed to regain his notorious confidence, and to renew his determination to keep casualties at an all-time low. With no words to express this, he simply set his hand on Shikamaru’s shoulder, as well, gripping it tightly to assure him he still had his back, just as he had his throughout his reign as Hokage.

As the only section of the fort capable of housing their entire regiment, those who had survived the assault found themselves disbursed throughout the neighboring rooms and halls, grimly awaiting further bombardment or returning to the socializing they engaged in prior to Shikamaru’s speech. It was through the nearest of these halls that Airon carried Nakama, instantly garnering the attention of those sitting near the entrance, including the now fully healed and seemingly aggravated Manako.

Manako: Why is it every time I’m stuck with some sort of heavy injury, you only heal me halfway and then take off?

Airon: (He made an exaggerated pouty face.) Oh, why, are you feelings hurt cause I left you to fend for yourself while I went to go help us avoid more casualties?

Manako: (He made a miserable attempt to hide his amusement beneath more feigned anger.) It’s the principle of it all, Airon. You could at least finish what you started.

????: Hey, look!! There they are!!

????: They did it!! Way to go, guys!! Way to go!

????: Woohoo!!!

Word of their arrival quickly spread throughout the rest of the hall, bringing to its entrance hundreds of shinobi who had already received word of their endeavors. It was only the intervention of their closest friends that stopped the ensuing mob from trampling over them, though they, too, found difficulty resisting the urge to express their own amazement and gratitude.

Manako: Oh, I guess that explains it. You just wanted the glory.

Airon: (He shook his head and looked at him mockingly.) The arm’s healed, Manako. So shut up and just accept that I’m more popular than you right now.

Nakama: (She lifted her head up to his ear, still exhausted.) I think most of their cheering is for me…I moved the rock, after all.

Airon: (He smirked and rolled his eyes.) Yeah, but they know deep down you used my chakra to do it.

She just shook her head and let herself down moments later, prompted by the arrival of Boruto who – naturally – seemed more proud of them than anyone else could lay claim to.

Boruto: Two hours in and you’re already a war hero. …Why am I not surprised?

Airon: (He shrugged his shoulders.) Hehehe, it’s probably in my blood.

Boruto: Yeah…perhaps.

By some bizarre confidence, all further discussion between the two was interrupted by the arrival of their patriarch, the Supreme Leader and his wife at one side and Sasuke and Sakura on the other, all of them looking up or down at him with intense respect. A far less pleasant thought ran through Airon’s mind, though, as they approached him.

Airon: How many did we lose?

Naruto: (He glanced over at Sakura as he recalled her estimation.) A few hundred. It could’ve been a lot more if you two hadn’t reacted, though.

Airon: (He nodded, not at all prided by the latter remark.) …What do we do now?

Shikamaru: We start our own attack. First thing tomorrow morning.

Before Airon could acknowledge him, out from the crowd behind them emerged the leader of the samurai himself, looking equally pleased with the efforts of the young man standing before him.

Rounin: And I have a few squadrons in my division with no leader now…if only I could find someone strong and smart enough to lead them on the battlefield.

He feigned deliberation as he looked down at Airon, barely containing his amusement as Airon’s eyes lit up. It was by no means the prospect of leading multiple squadrons that made them do so – despite his frequent complaints, Konohamaru had often made more genuine use of his natural talent – nor was it the prospect of being a shinobi leading samurai, famed for their swordsmanship the same as he was. In all honesty, if he were to label it, he could probably call it an involuntary reflex, since it was quickly replaced by his usual brand of sarcasm.

Airon: Well, nothing’s impossible. I’m sure you’ll find someone.

Airon and Nakama push the enemy back, but their battle has only just begun!!!

The End

Great chapter, really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next one. Even though Airon instigated it, Nakama sure has been helpful so far, on the way there and with the boulders. Can't wait to see what else she can do. She should be getting more credit than Airon, although I doubt she minds.Being self taught Airon, could really hone his skills if he takes command of the Samurai division.

Well, Boruto's his father so that's why he walked up to him and not Nakama, and Nakama is actually set to follow the Second Division to the Land of Earth, which is why Rounin came to Airon with the offer. The cheers were for both of them, though, that I assure you;) lol

Very good chaptwr man! Its so sweet, action pacled and surprising and also new build up suspense.

Yh nakama takes this chapter by faaaar! And manako also, saving many lives before d first boulder crashed and using his susano also. (i wud really like to see Manako's mangyeko sharingan body flicker technique, hahaha i'm assuming something like The Flash's swift movements)

Naturally ppl assume Airon is behind all d success because he is more popular among d trio and he talks too much, he also likes d fame.

But nakama freezing those boulders midair is just plain amazing and magnificent.

U try really good at making these trio equals

Anyway nice way to setup Minto, its about time.

Yes! The Airon i knew is back! Though i prefer him leading a smaller team to a squadron. Airon alone is an army. Something like Ambush squad of sort. But its your call and you proven best at it :)

Thumbs up!

Well, it's more what Shisui was supposed to be famous for (I only watch the manga, so I've never seen him in action). lol

Well no, they don't. Manako talks to him that way cause that's their relationship, Boruto pointed him out cause he's his son, and Rounin came to him with the offer cause he's in his division unlike Nakama. I told this to Trea, too. xd

Funny you should make that suggestionxd Hope you enjoy the next chapter*_*

So this was the cause of that attack. I was wondering what exactly it was. To think, this isn’t even a jutsu per say and yet had devastating results. I thought Manako would protect himself with Susanoo and thank goodness he did so in time =D It truly sucks that Manako received damage. I’m really hoping to see more from Manako. I liked that Naruto and Sasuke worked side by side once again :) I’m shocked at Nakama’s feat. I was a bit surprised by Shikamaru’s desire to have the betraying Tsuki-nin executed. And I liked Naruto’s reaction to him as a result. I loved how Nakama countered Airon’s conceded praise =D I didn’t think that Airon would be asked to lead a squad. Since at this point Airon and Nakama seem to edge out Manako in prowess, etc. I personally would liked to see Nakama offered this position instead as she just as good if not ever slightly over Airon’s level. It also would’ve been different seeing a female leading as females doing anything commending is a rarity but I respect your decision.

Great chapter and looking forward to what’s to come ;)

Well, I explain in some of the other replies why Rounin offered Airon that position and not Nakama.

Well, that's not really true. Keep in mind that Airon was the only one of the three that didn't have his own means of stopping one of the rocks;) lol

Appreciate the great feedback as always, man*_*
