With the new chapter now out, the focus has shifted from Jack to the Big Mom Pirates. If the rest of the arc keeps on this storyline, we might not even see Jack again, with the focus being on rescuing Sanji from the Tea Party of Doom.

He might still come back as the main villain of the arc, but he could just as easily come back in a later arc along side the other two calamities.

For all we know, he actually is dead.

I may be in the few but I think he died. I don't think this is a misdirect from Oda, I think we're done with Jack, plus if he is as strong as people are making him out to be and Kaidou still has 2 more calamities plus himself that'd be stupidly OP, no crew we've seen would be able to stand to him. Plus Big Mom's high up crew mate(never said 1st mate I don't think but he's important since she sends him on so many missions) got taken down fairly easy by a Super Nova who should be closer to the bottom of that list(I would say despite this showing he's still below Luffy,Law,Kidd,Drake and Hawkins, possibly Apoo too)

Pekoms getting owned was a Black Zetsu type moment. Pekom's guard was down because he probably didnt think he would be betrayed.

Even with his guard down, with the hype Yonkou crew mates get he shouldn't have went down that easy. It's doing 1 of two things, it's either trying to show Capone is a badass(which sorry, but I'm not biting) or Pekoms is weaker than we thought back at FI(which is also hard to buy but I'd believe it more than Bege being a total badass.) And are you saying if Luffy blindsided Jack he'd take him out in 1 hit(not even his strongest attack, because honestly Bege didn't use one of his stronger attacks, it didn't even have a name) because that seems contrary to all the Jack praise that's been going around lately. Pekoms wasn't paying attention and got hit, by hype he should have been tough enough to get up and at least take a 2nd or more hits.
