Kendrick was definitely the best. BUt out of our generation? A gen can last 25+ years and generations don't REALLY exist but lets just go with it. There are so many other people and you're being ignorant.
Drake is a pop wave rider though. HE stole DRAMS beat for hotline bling, the sauce dance from the sauce twinz, and 4 of the weekends songs. I can go on.

To be fair, that's just sales and money. Lots of things that are subpar manage to make a lot of money, whether it be songs, movies, or books.

That's still impressive. it's been 25 years since a hip-hop album hit platinum with no features. If he's mediocre then he better step it up. 2014 FHD was a step in the right direction imo. Come February he has no choice since there's an alleged collab with him and Cornrows Kenny. Compared to non-mainstream rappers he is mediocre tho. He fits a niche tho. Just like Future and fetty.

TBH I've only heard one project from Cole that I can confidently say felt mediocre (Born sinner).... Friday night lights, The warm up, 2014FHD and his other works were all nice to me

But on an individual song by song basis then yea I can see why people feel he's mediocre
