When Cell was about to blow himself up vs Gohan ssj2, Goku used instant transmission on Cell to send him to King Kai's planet.

Why didnt he instant transmission back to earth (with King Kai and co) before Cell exploded?
He even had a short chat with King Kai before the explosion went off.

In the end still not enough time/energy left?
Other reason?

Akira Toriyama probably forgot about how time flows in DBZ. That 5 minute battle in Goku vs Frieza for example. However, you can argue that since Namek has 3 suns, that would mean 5 minutes is way longer than that.

To push gohan over that limit because he knew gohan wasn't going to be able to do it without that hidden power is what i think lol

Don't think he could have found king Kai's planet and still have enough time to find earth again to instant them all back he needs prep time for instant transmission memeber

Yeah I guess back than he still needed quite the prep time.

In DB super he can do it kinda fast though and in some dbz movies too.
I think I had those kind of fast instant transmissions in mind.

I think Goku intended to die alongside Cell. By that point he was struggling with the thought that he was the one endangering Earth; if he remained on the planet then opponents would keep rising up to challenge him. It's hard to believe that he was out of time given how long he spent talking with Gohan and King Kai.

Also, he asked not to be revived using the dragon balls.

Edit:
Regarding how long it took Cell to explode, from start to finish it was one minute, but Goku only intervened with four seconds left (according to the translated version available on MangaBase).

Or you can actually read the manga and see the fight wasnt too long. Plus roshi and krillin had a whole scuffle in miliseconds.

It's not his fault, it's the inconsistency In the show

The manga yeah it didn't so I'd say 15 minutes since there are 3 suns in Namek.

Good point.

Maybe over time, he learned to do it faster and/or he died on purpose vs Cell like Iruka said.

The battle was "5 minutes". Namek has 3 suns. 5 x 3 does not equal 15? Lol

It could be longer regardless.

Dude that shit is not How minutes work smfhhhhhhh.
No.it can't be longer quit makimg shit up And equations that don't make sense. Three suns means constant daylight but it doesnt change the length of a minute it just makes night time nonexistent
