Hey guys. We recently found out that Itachi got his own show. I'm curious to see what you expect from this series. We've already seen his past vaguely and his character depiction was nothing short of awesome. However, I'm expecting a much deeper sip into his character development, much much more detailed than it was in the manga or anime.
Since it's entirely about him, they should show his every relationship and how they impacted his decisions. That means his parents, Shisui, his lover and most of all, Sasuke. The greatest conflict in him, for me, was when he was killing his parents, the crying part. I'm hoping they'll expand on that and show his conflicting emotions even more. What do you want out of it?
What did Nagato ever do to you? Are mad cause his Rinigan is a superior form of the sharingan? Itachi stands no chance against such a being. With that aside this series will be shit. Cause Itachi rarely ever talks. We will see Shisui playing the hero majority of the series. I expect nothing good for his character in this series.
I was hoping to see some of the things he did after killin his clan.
Like leaving with Obito! What happend on that journey.
The training he went through to get the techs he has before he was akatsuki.
The battle that we don't see after his depature from the leaf.
Hope they touch on that because shinobi from all around knew who godtachi was & treaded with caution.
I don't think that has much merit since Itachi was an 8 year old genin at the time. And to be honest, that was more hype for Itachi in a way since Obito's genjutsu failed to affect him, along with his 13 year old team mate and 17 yr old Kakashi. Obito is 17 at the time as well since he's 9 years older than Itachi. He wasn't scared of Obito either, you must have read a shoddy translation.
But then they at least make up for it (for Tobi) in a way since when Itachi is observing Obito and wondering what to do next, his teammate acts like a moron and tries to attack him. Obito kills him easily, senses Kakashi coming and leaves. And Itachi obviously went from trying to observe the situation to looking at his dismembered comrade, which leads to his sharingan activating a 2nd time. So, the resulting slaughter Tobi left behind of that fool shocked everyone but his actual presence didn't scare them.

Age 8: Team 2 was chosen to do a mission to guard the Daimyo for his annual trip to Konoha. Traditionally, the genin team which performed the best during the year got given this mission. This is considered a great honour but mostly for show, as the Daimyo has the other guards and some of the ‘Twelve Guardian Ninja’ accompanying him, and there’s also an ANBU team in the shadows.
On the road towards Konoha, a mysterious man appeared before them. It was a man in black, wearing an orange mask. The man casted a genjutsu. Tenma and Itachi were the only ones not caught in it. Tenma attacked, but his fist just went through. He was then killed by the man. This incident finally triggered Itachi’s sharingan.
The man sensed “Hatake Kakashi”, and so he left the scene. The accompanying ANBU squad had arrived. The shortest one with gray hair and a fox mask appeared to be “Hatake Kakashi”. “Kakashi” apologized for being late, as he was the only one in the ANBU squad not affected by the genjutsu so he had to spend time undoing it for everyone on his squad.
Everyone in the group were shakened by what had happened. The Daimyou returned to the capital while Team 2 returned to Konoha.
After seeing the harsh reality of the ninja world, Shinko gave up her ninja qualification and started civilian work in Konoha.
Two recent graduates were then assigned to Team 2; Himuka and Aburame Youji. The new Team 2 took on training and D-ranks under Minazuki Yuuki.

ot: For powers/hype: The novels only go from his life at age 4 to the Uchiha massacre when Itachi is 13. So, nothing too tremendous. (I have no idea as to why the trailer had that scene of him in Akatsuki... maybe Studio Pierrot will add filler to the canon material or perhaps that was a tease and they'll stay true to only going up to the massacre? We'll have to wait and see.) In the novels, he uses basic ninja skills (his strength, speed, and weapons) and very little genjutsu ironically in comparison to when he's an adult. He tries to avoid fights often as well, since conflict is of course pointless in his opinion. Nothing has Totsuka, Yata, or OP techs outside of Tsukuyomi and maybe Amaterasu- this makes the reader focus more on the actual story. If you're only into fights- this may not be for you.
Relations: The novels had plenty of his relationship with his father, the village leadership (Danzo/Koharu/Homura), Shisui, Izumi (his "lover"- he didn't want to pursue any romance even though he felt a little attracted to her since he was so focused on the village/Uchiha mess, everyone just thought he was dating this girl since they talked to each other often and were seen together), other genin/Chuunin/Anbu, Orochimaru has appearances, those 3 Uchiha Police Force member cops who Itachi humiliated in the pt1 flashback of the manga, etc. Mikoto and Sasuke make appearances as well but are not the focus of this for long. The biggest relationships touched upon in the canon novels regarding Itachi are with his dad, Izumi, and Shisui. That and the situation as a whole.
If you want to get a general idea of what one of the novels entails, here's the most accurate translation for a summary at the moment:

The others people have done are pretty bad or incorrect. Mainly because some with amateur skills tried their hand at reading the raw Japanese novel and failed, so they went with what they thought lol.
The above was done for the first book (Book of Light) detailing Itachi's earlier years, the second has yet to have the entire summary translated and is about Itachi's later years and around the massacre (A Dark Night). The titles for the novels are pretty self-explanatory for their content. Book One is good for understanding the life of a shinobi which Kishi didn't go into much, the Uchiha situation with Konoha, light-hearted relationships Itachi had, how Itachi was on a good path and talented, good at being stoic but worried on the inside, etc. Book Two is literally where all his hopes crash and burn but he trudges on anyway. Dark Night is depressing and disappointing, the system failed a young shinobi. There's even a Tsukuyomi scene during the massacre that Itachi shows Izumi before he has to kill her where they live together, there's peace and no tension between the Uchiha and the village, they both retire from being shinobi in the illusion, get married, have kids, etc. She dies with happiness and he finishes the illusion alive, knowing he has to continue the assassination mission and live the rest of his life as a mass murderer.
