A number of Saudi Arabia's allies have joined diplomatic action against Iran after the Saudi embassy in Tehran was attacked amid a row over the execution of a Shia Muslim cleric.
Bahrain and Sudan have both severed relations with Iran, and the UAE has downgraded its diplomatic team.
Saudi Arabia on Sunday severed ties and gave Iran's diplomats two days to go.
Saudi Arabia and Iran are the key Sunni and Shia powers in the region and back opposing sides in Syria and Yemen.

Saudis beheaded 48 people including a shia cleric.
Now they and their allies have cut ties with Iran.

Is 2016 the year Iran gets democracy?

iran is way too mighty to have democracy force upon them like the other countries around them.... also they have strong allies and the democracy spreading nation is pretty broke....

also i like how no one of the west gives a shit about what saudis doo, cause theyre allies and have oil.....

There are lot of chances
Saudis even with imported superior arms have proven themselves meme tier in yemen but they do work and there is also Israel. Both want Iran gone. Once there is a bit of momentum like some US or UK official condemning Iran and calling it terrorist and announcing them threat to the free world they are done with. Also west will get seriously butthurt if Russia gets upper hand in Syria. They can take it directly on Iran.

90% of the reason I posted this is Kevin Spacey. Not saying I agree with most of what he says.

It's just that he's the antagonist.

Dimocracy is great when it works (America's golden years) but it eventually flops (modern America) or doesn't work at all (Post-Revolution France)

Iran does have elements of democracy, already. It's part of the Shiite processes.

The crux of the conflict between Iran and Saudi Arabia can be traced back to the Persian Empire's squabble with the Arabs from the Islamic State. After the Persians were conquered, they largely became the intellectual base of what became known as the Ottoman Empire. The Persians created their own derivative of Islam known as Shia Islam - which allows members of Persian ancestry to become Imams (distinctly different from Caliphs).

Since this is not something permitted within the Qu'ran and has been ruled to be a man-developed system imposed upon Islam - Sunni clerics and Muslims understandably consider Shiites little better than Kafir, if not worse.

True, the U.S. has supplied both Iran and Saudi Arabia with warfighting capability they would not have if left to their own devices - but the will to go to war with each other is tied inexorably to their religious convictions. This was going to happen by virtue of Iran being Shiite and Saudi Arabia being Sunni.

Once again - I tell people what is going to happen, and then they want to come up with any explanation for why it has happened other than the one that was used to successfully predict it.
