I wonder if the same people wonder if Dragon Ball Super isn't canon then? Toriyama is doing the same thing as Kishi, does a very rough outline and let's the anime and manga directors do their things. Kishi will get credit for writing the story like he did for The Last and Boruto, despite the fact he was only a supervisor.

Their problem seems to be more with Dragonball GT then Super from what I've been reading. What's funny is that all these member screaming and predicting a part III and now that it is happening they don't want to consider it canon because Kishi is ruining his marriage to lock and chain himself to his art desk for another 700 issues XD

Dragonball Super just ruins DBZ further. Its art style is shit compared to 1995.
