I'm in no way implying that prequels > originals. It's just that you people are absurd to say that Episodes 1-3 are good for nothing.

I'm not bashing Episodes 4-6. I love 'em. They do have some flaws though.

People give legitimate reasons as to why they say Episodes 1-3 aren't good. But people think that the only reason we hate them is because, and I quote, "have nostalgia goggles."

Yeah, those kind of people put their utmost effort into nitpicking. They search hard for any and all flaws.
They don't appreciate Darth Maul, young Obi-Wan Kenobi, the greatest lightsaber fight (Obi-Wan vs Anakin), getting to see an abundance of Jedi, and other cool things the prequels gave us.

It's not nitpicking lol You don't even have to look hard to find things like cringe-worthy dialogue and questionable plots.

Darth Maul's cool-looking and all, but there's not much to appreciate when he has little screentime and generally irrelevant to the main story. Sort of like Boba Fett.

Lol the ROTS fight wasn't the best and shoving a cluster**** of lighsabers in the audience's face isn't cool or needed

Don't get me wrong, the originals aren't perfect like you said, but they're still good movies (ep. 6 is questionable), unlike the prequels

Considering that the first thing is all opinion, I'm not sure why one would get mad at that, and also considering the fact that the prequels were nothing but forced love story, Anakin is Jesus Christ, Showy fights that last too long and don't have much meaning behind them like the first 3 did, and good god the midi-chlorians (which we do not speak of).

Don't get me wrong, the originals aren't perfect like you said, but they're still good movies (ep. 6 is questionable), unlike the prequels

To be fair the first one(ep. 4) had such a better plot because George Lucas ripped off The Hidden Fortress by Akira Kurosawa. Also what a lot of people today don't understand is that the time period something comes out plays as big a role on the impression as the material itself and Star Wars was at the right place at the right time to leave a big impression, today the first films don't seem like that big of a deal but it was.

I disagree with your point about the lightsabers not being cool or needed. It gave us Mace, dual saber wielding Jedi, dual balded sabers, the general Grievous fight, more saber colors which led to the fan creation(I think fan creation) about the correlation between saber color and The Force, plus the Jedi order was supposed to be a bigger force at that point in time so it only made sense that we would see more than the main cast this time.

Also the prequels did do some things better, the graphics and effects obviously. The digital Yoda was absolutely an improvement. We got a little bit of a history lesson on Obi Wan which is a nice depth addition to the story universe. The acting in both was kind of stiff for the leads, Hamill grew into an amazing actor and was pretty good by the end of the series but that first movie, his first movie, wasn't the smoothest thing to watch and Anikin's actor had some moments where he was good and more when he was average. One thing I was confused with and not sure if they mentioned it was why C3PO didn't recognize Vader as Anakin.

If you ask me prequels weren't absolutely terrible. They had some flaws as did the original trilogy. I really liked Episode 3, it would have been perfect if Anakin's change wasn't so aburpt and he didn't kill the younglings(he wanted to save Padme, and he hated the grown jedi not the youngs one), dialouge was better, Padme didn't die so stupidly(lost the will to live lmao). But Darth Sidious was an epic villain and the fights(although Anakin vs Obi wan dragged), and Order 66 was fantasically executed.

I agree. I really have never understood the hate when SWs is not exactly a miracle of writing.
