Are the Hyuuga's arsenal limited? Their move-set is all Gentle Fist no elemental capabilities or long-ranged attacks (Apart from Airpalm), We all know Kishimoto could further develop characters but did Hyuuga get good enough treatment? Discuss??
It' more like their abilities were never expanded upon.
Simply using Gentle Fist as a base technique, I could see the how the Hyuga could have had a lot more unique and useful techniques. I guess one could say the anime showcased this with things like the Protection 64 Palms. Heck, if we're talking about Gentle Fist's potential, it should realistically be able to manually open the 8 Gates at will, given that the 8 Gates are also said to be Tenketsu, albeit slightly different. It should also theoretically be able to counter most physical techniques, given that it was stated by Neji that Gentle Fist arts could be used to destroy chakra.
Again, given what we know of it already, it has/had potential to be really broken, but that potential was never explored.
Still, even with the limited arsenal they ended up with, it's still admirable. Best Taijutsu in the series, a defense that can match the lower stages of Susano'O, able to damage internal organs with even a small graze, and a fairly powerful wind attack.
The only real thing they lack is feats, to be frank
Hyugas do have elements though.
