If you haven't seen the series, the refrain from opening the spoiler tags, might ruin some things.

Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works is the first series I've watched of a show that apparently has more seasons/separates series that sort of flow together, in other words, I'm completely lost as to why Archer has such a Vendetta against Shirou. I mean, tge guy is a serious Douchebag. I didn't want to spoil too much for myself, but I'm starting to see a lot of similarities between Archer and Shirou.

I'm almost certain Archer is Shirou, or a close relative from the past?? That would make more sense right? Since the heroes are only spirits of the past, and Shirou had some connection to tye 4th Holy Grail war. But what are the chances of a hero spirit coming from the future? Is it possible he is Shirou from the past reincarnated, and he knows it? Anybody watch this show? I'm lost lol

Archer is the heroic spirit of Shirou. In archers life time he was sent to kill many different people but couldn't save a single one and so he grows to resent the foolish ideals he used to live by and believes if he kills his past self he wouldn't have been created thus ending his suffering

So Archer is a heroic spirit of the future? That makes a little more sense! Didn't think heroes could come from the future.

Well Archer's case was different he had something that belonged to Rin, that acted as a catalyst for his summon.

Aaah, the necklace. Well shit, what a twist!! Starting to dig this show more and more, but do they eventually tell you Archer is his hero spirit? Or will it just always be highly implied? Because they do a lot of comparisons I'm only half way done with the first season.

They can come from past, present or future. You should have finished the anime before spoiling it for yourself.

Fate/Zero takes place ten years before Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works. There is the original Fate/Stay Night which goes on the Fate route, and focuses on Saber and Shirou more then UBW did with Rin and Shirou. There is a movie coming out next year or so called Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel.

When you finish UBW make sure you watch the alternative ending - Sunny Day.

They tell you. But why you spoiling it for yourself. :|

Far from being a perfect adaption... but still not that weak as some people say.

It's either people who haven't played the VN or don't get that UBW is the step for the development that awaits the characters in Heaven's Feel.
No surprise though. People want edgy stuff right from the start and not an mc who is realistic and has to go through development. (kinda the same retarded reason to hate on shinji from NGE)

Don't worry, badass Shirou will come for you in the next route!

UBW is shit. Literally the "troll" route as all it does is troll everyone and everything, anime made it worse mostly.

Step in development? No, UBW is simply supposed to focus on Shirou, Rin, Archer, Caster, and a minor spotlight on Lancer. Understanding UBW definitely helps in realizing why Shirou is suddenly "bad-ass" (always a bitch imo) in HF and him and rin will always have the spotlight as their relationship drives FSN in general, but the development is capped in UBW for the most part. Its most definitely not a "step" in development as all the characters focused on in HF are literally developed a whopping 0%.

Sakura? Gone for most of the route, Kirei? Oh look he's here and now he's dead. Rider? Does she even have actual screen time? :lol True Assasin and Zouken aren't even in or mentioned in the route and Ilya wasn't really focused on in the VN but the anime gave her flashbacks and a pointless end to a connecting point with FZ.

Only thing Shirou is developed for in HF is to parrallel Kirei (the only reason im watching the HF adaption).

I know you didn't just call Shirou realistic btw......Literally the whole plot is Rin realizing how unrealisitic this guy is :lol

Yeah i see that you have missed the point of all routes and their connection. Not to mention the 3 different Shirou's in each route and the development he gets.

That's UBW Adaption for you.
Literally - let's take interesting and deep characters with lots of thoughts and philosophies, SHIT ON THE MAIN CHARACTER'S DEVELOPMENT, genericize the main romance interest into just an asuka-clone who just spends time acting cute and then let's take the story and dump it all in the trash for sake of cheap explosions and fireworks that hide bad choreography in fights.
You should play the VN again but it seems more like you watched the shitty adaptions first and ruined it for yourself.
Not gonna argue though, because i atleast agree with Fate Route being the best and Saber ftw.

:lol I read the VN first bud, you're needlessly trying to make connections between the routes when literally it was designed to shed light on all characters as Fate is a CHARACTER DRIVEN SERIES not known for its wonderful plot but instead its wonderful development of the characters, which it flopped on some standards. HF ties up some loose plot points that are present throughout the series but thats about it. None of the routes are directly connected, as clearly sabers development in the FATE route is rendered obselete in the other two as an example.

Shirous powers are explained in UBW and then used in HF, is that what point you're trying to make?

Foh you know nothing clearly, btw FSN was fully and intently supposed to be driving by romantic relationships with the MC's which if you really have read the VN's then that should be abundantly clear, its main goal being that "Love conquers all" as the writer stated himself. Don't insult my knowledge than post nothing that benefits either of us, its pathetic.
