Anyways this film ties or slightly behind my favorite Star Wars movie which was Return of the Jedi.
Just about everything in this film was amazing. The returning cast of characters that those familiar with the franchise knows were spot on and never forced to be younger than what they already are. The connection between Han and Leia was just like as it was from where episode 6 left off. I won't say anything about Luke for spoiler reasons. C3PO and R2 obviously the same witty bunch we remember them as. As for the new characters, the depth given to them are amazing significantly for the new heroes introduced Rey, Finn, and Poe. Especially Poe who reminds me of Han which is cool considering Han is my favorite character in the Star Wars franchise. As for the new Dark side we are introduced to Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and Supreme Leader Snoke along with the secret Knights of Ren, for some of these characters such as Phasma, not much development was given but she is confirmed for the next installment so I'm sure we will learn more about her then. Kylo Ren who is seen as the new face of the Dark Side and villain of the new trilogy, he intrigued me the most because I felt his character was much more complex than any of the other new characters introduced. I believe he is what JJ wanted to portray as this character who tied with the original heroes that struggle with who he is and what he should do. I also believe his character's story has the most significance to the new trilogy and he will play a huge factor in deciding how it will all end. I loved his..
every shot he was in was full of emotion which is what this character is, a person full of mix and unstable emotions unsure of who he truly is. I won't go into depth of General Hux, and Snoke.
The comedy in this movie was just right and was never over the top or forced, very witty and funny jokes, especially from Finn and Poe. Even Kylo had a few funny moments.
Favorite character in this movie was Han Solo and tied with Kylo, Han Solo is my all time favorite but Kylo's actor gave a hell lot of emotion and darkness into this new character it was amazing.
Pros:
all the new characters are amazing in my opinion and they seem like they will be well developed for the sequels to come.
Kylo is just pure badass and gives that nostalgic feel of Vader.
The humor was perfect and never took away from the seriousness of the plot.
The fight scenes and significant death scene(s) were full of emotion and great camera angles.
No crazy Kung fu lightsaber duels, classic lightsaber duels filled with emotion and dialogue.
Great special and PRACTICAL EFFECTS.
John Williams music is always a +
Nostalgia bonus.
Great action.
Daisy Ridley who played Rey was so adorable BB-8 too!
Cons:
Characters underdeveloped such as Captain Phasma, Hux, and Knights of Ren but we will see much more in the sequels.
Where's the imperial theme lol barely heard it.
this one is a spoiler
Another spoiler..
Favorite scene: spoiler..

temper tantrums and how he portrays himself similiar in the manner of his grand father Anakin aka Darth Vader, it was funny and intense

Luke was only in it for like 10 seconds lol with 0 dialogue but so much emotion. R2 as well
Finn seemed to be the next Jedi type heroe but we are mislead with this through the marketing campaign in the end we learn it is Rey who is force sensitive and will be trained by Luke whereas Finn may only be just an significant Resistance soldier or pilot like Poe, this film is probably the first and last time we see him wielding a lightsaber.
Favorite scene: spoiler..
Han Solo's Death at the hands of his own son Ben Solo aka Kylo Ren, it meant so much to me considering that Han is my favorite and to be killed by his own son was just tragic and sad, beautifully shot and filled with emotion from both Kylo and Han as they both teared up, the way it was shot on that bridge with it being nice and quite just for them and the lighting setting upon them two. This scene will remain as a true classic Star Wars scene for me and for many fans.
