Yeah Gohan has been saving them the first two sagas he pretty much deserves his own arc. You're right, they bched about Goku that's why DBZ is bland sometimes.

of course he would. Though gohan has always been too soft ,either ways i never expect him to take the fighting seriously.

His saiyan blood lacks the necessary requirements to be a warrior, the excitement that is.

Bull shit and disrespecting the blood... he's a pacifist. He is the strongest until fanservice made author bring goku back after cell saga. Then Akira tried to give Gohan the mantle again with the z sword arc but again fanservice called for goku which led to more fusions.

Him lacking the requirements(which is only having the blood of a sayian you ****ing troll) is counterintuitive...
Not to mention as a toddler he almost one shot Raditz, hung with nappa for a time, went ape, namek arc, ss2 as soon as Cell arc training started. Bojack, sayaman, powering up majin buus egg.. LAST ***** STANDING in Trunks' original timeline... and hung with Broly til l needing father-son kamehameha.
