Okabe waits in the training grounds once more. This time however, he would be getting training in another element. Lightning. He found it quite ironic that he was training in the two opposite elemental natures at the same time, Earth and Lightning. Nonetheless, he watched the surrounding area as he waited for his new teacher. He couldn't help but wonder what type of man his teacher would be? Hopefully not one sent by the Organization..

"Hmm."

OK, gonna need you tel tell me all you know so far about Raiton, it's nature and abilities, weaknesses and so forth. Then we shall continue

Okabe was shocked, as his teacher appeared out of nowhere, from behind a tree. What was he doing.. Nonetheless, he wasted no time, as he gave Okabe his latest instructions. He was quite eager to learn some new things. He thought for a short moment about the element itself. He didn't know much, but maybe his explanation was enough for this man, with the odd hairstyle.

"Very well. Raiton, or Lightning Release, is one of the five basic elemental natures. It's fierce, and powerful and probably one of the more destructive elements around. It's basically the manipulation of raw Lightning, capable of shocking and paralyzing upon contact. However, it has been shown that it can be condensed as well, into shapes like dogs and dragons. Except for shocking and paralyzing, Lightning seems to have the ability to destroy most before it. Lightning is strong to Earth, as it tears through its structure with ease, as seen when Sasuke fought Deidara. He was capable of destroying most Earth based techniques..a shame, really. However, Lightning is weak to Wind, which insulates it, and basically stops it from moving onwards, by using the air as its medium. Once its insulated, the electrons are affected, and they simply stop working. I'd guess that Lightning and Water would make good combination techniques, as seen before and that the interaction between Lightning and Fire is an odd one. Both elements are somewhat, energy types, so they'd maybe phase through each other? Lightning is super hot too, if we go by physics of course. I plan to use it for close range combat..zhehahahaha."

Okabe was excited. He had never before experienced a thrill much like explaining Lightning, Hopefully it was sufficient enough, since his knowledge merely came from his academy days.

Good good, just a few points to give you. Raiton is one of the five basic elemental nature transformation techniques that allows the user to generate lightning by increasing the high frequency vibrations of their chakra, allowing for piercing damage and fast movement. The electricity paralyses the target so that they are unable to move and leaves them vulnerable to a finishing strike. While uncommon, lightning can be infused into bladed weapons in a way similar to Wind Release through chakra flow for increased piercing power through vibrations, with the added effect of inducing numbness. When the technique is released from their bodies, and thus not requiring physical contact, it does not move as fast as true lightning. Instead, due to the control the user has to exert over it, it moves far slower, which can give opponents time to still react.

Now, using the information above, mold your chakra and use nature transformation to create small bolts of lightning from your hands

Okabe nodded his head in reaction to his teacher's explanation. Lightning sure was interesting, and he was quite eager to explore it more. His face shown in anticipation as he heard that he would now try and actually manipulate the deadly element. Okabe smiled and easily reminded himself that this was a training session, he had to be serious. His face now became more serious as he focuses his Lightning chakra to his hands, and releases small, yet beautifully shaped bolts of Lightning, aimed away from his teacher, and towards a small tree. He wasn't too sure as to what he was supposed to hit with the bolts in the first place, so that was merely a wild shot.

"Something like that?"

Okabe asks, his face shining with joy.

Very good. Remember though at this stage you want to concentrate on changing your chakra's nature into a raiton natured one. So remember that you are using high frequency vibrations to give your attack the speed and cutting/piercing potential. Also, you learned this..

OK, the two basic D rank moves. Don't be fooled by their low rank, when used properly in the right situation they can stop someone in their tracks long enough for you to connect with a more powerful strike. Give me an analysis of each technique, also bare in mind the range of each, as it's easy to forget about. Many fights have been lost because someone used a short range jutsu against someone mid-long range away from them and their jutsu failed.

Okabe listens intently, and notes down what he was supposed to know. When he was ready, he started with the first technique.

"Okay, (Raiton: Raikou Oonami) - Lightning Release: Lightning Surge is quite a simple technique where one will focus one's chakra and form it into a Lightning natured one. After that, one will focus it to your hand and slam said hand onto the ground and release the focused Lightning towards the foe, which would of course, shock them! Useful indeed, though its odd, I am guessing one should maintain contact with the ground, no? Since the ground works as a medium of the Lightning?"

Okabe scratches his head before he continues.

"Now, (Ration: Ikazuchi Kashou) - Lightning Release: Thunder Burn. A more simple one, where one will focus and change one's chakra to Lightning nature. After doing so, one would simply wave a hand of one's choice, releasing towards the foe some bolts of Lightning. Quite useful in close range due to the overall speed of the technique. This is something I'd definitely use...zhehahaha!!"

Good, and yes I would maintain contact until the move is finished as it's a streaming technique. Though given its short range you shouldn't have to do that long. On to C ranks..

( Raiton: Raigeki) - Lightning Release: Electric Attack

Description: After performing the required hand seals Tiger → Snake → Dog the user creates an electric current from their hand that can hit multiple individuals at the same time. Furthermore, it extends into incredible distances and can avoid obstacles.

As you see, molding your chakra and performing the seals needed you create an electrical current that can avoid obstacles and travel long distances in order to hit your target, and can even be used to attack several targets at once. Break it down for me please.

Nodding his head in an erratic manner, Okabe agreed.

"Now, ( Raiton: Raigeki) - Lightning Release: Electric Attack is quite a peculiar technique. After forming the needed hand seals, one will manipulate one's Lightning chakra and release from one's hands an electric current, either towards the opponent or aimed at removing obstacles in your way. What makes it quite interesting is that it can travel far, and can hit multiple opponents. This conclusion leads me to believe that the current can perhaps be manipulated after releasing it? Which would make it more versatile in terms of overall movement and using it to take down something, despite the obstacles in its wake. It doesn't much damage, but because of its versatile nature, it could be used in conjunction with Water, and various Ninja based tools, for the best results."

Okabe then swings his scientist coat in a dramatic fashion, showcasing his brilliance and overall Mad-Scientist behavior.

Yes you can manipulate it to a degree to guide it in avoiding obstacles, though be careful of using water, don't wanna go electrocuting ourselves now do we xD

His sensei was now on Lightning speed, wanting to move on with the next two techniques. Okabe smiled with glee, his face completely different from before as he broke out into laugh in preparation for the next two techniques.

"OKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!! (Raiton: Jibashi) - Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder is a bit similar to the one before, however, this one requires no hand seals which already makes it a bit better in my books. Through manipulation of one's Lightning chakra, one will release a surge of Lightning from one's hands, which is capable of taking an opponent, destroying an obstacle, or be used with Water. A bit more ideal to what I had imagined with the previous technique. So a Water technique does more damage with this combined in it? Splendid."

Okabe says, laughing maniacally as he went on to the next.

"Hmm, (Raiton: Raigeki no Yoroi) - Lightning Release: Lightning Strike Armour. Something that I would use to keep those pesky Organization members off me, if they get near enough...zhehahaha!! Through utilizing one's Lightning chakra, one is capable of creating an armor of Lightning around oneself which protects you from being attacked, but it only lasts for one attack. So when using it, the timing should be ideal as one could be susceptible to Water at that stage. Pretty neat though."

Okabe now looks around the field, scouting it for any Organization members.

Your doing well, and indeed the timing of that armor is crucial, as you stated it's short lived so make the most of it!

Descripton: By forming hand seals Snake → Upside down Tiger → Hands clapped together when near a cliff , the user causes stone and rock to become dislodged and rain down on anyone below it by releasing a wave of electrical energy which weakens the rock and makes it fall as it crumbles. However, this is extremely location-based and needs to be done uphill of a mountain for it to work.

"The organization..they are everywhere!"

Okabe then cleared his throat as he looked at the new batch of techniques and he was ready for them. He would now analyze them again.

"Alright, (Raiton: Iwa Nadare) - Lightning Style: Stone Avalanche. Okay, so one forms some hand seals and focuses one's Lightning chakra to one's hands and release a wave of Lightning that causes rocks to fall onto the opponent. However, this technique is very situational, as it requires one to be atop a hill, and the opponent below it. Not that useful in a normal, non-rocky environment.

Secondly, (Raiton: Shuurai Rappa no Jutsu) - Lightning Release: Lightning Strike Horn Technique. I really like this one..zhehahaha. One raises their hand in front of oneself like a sword, where it will then begin to glow in a yellow hue as one focuses Lightning chakra into said hand. The Lightning is then released like a horn, and spreads outwards, attacking multiple targets."

Okabe couldn't help but smile. These were really some cool techniques.

Yeah the first one is one you may never use, unless you find yourself running up a hill with someone following close behind. The second is nice cause you can strike multiple targets be it people/summons/clones.

While controlling the weapons, the user cannot mold chakra for other techniques and needs to keep focus.

Okabe nodded in agreement. He needed to add more details this time, and he wouldn't disappoint.

"Yes! Okay, let's start with the first one, ( Raiton: Inazuma ken Fudou ) - Lightning Release: Lightning Blades Levitation. From what I gather, this is an odd technique. Through usage of one's Lightning chakra, one will channel it into a sword and cause it to levitate. I believe there's some science involved here, though I don't think its needed that I delve into that hahaha. Anyway, one will then utilize one's Lightning chakra to create two physical copies of the sword, all three which then levitate in front of you. These are then sent spinning towards the opponent, and manipulated through hand movements or gestures. Except for the very odd concept that this relies on, this technique not only lets you levitate swords, but also direct them towards the opponent after making copies of the original. I believe that manipulating them in mid air with hand gestures and movements, would restrict one from using other techniques whilst controlling the swords. Something to think about would be that this technique would be quite useful in close combat, or when the opponent is using an Earth based defense, that one could cut through. However, wide scaled attacks could easily dwarf this near parlor trick, and leave one in quite a vulnerable state. I quite like it, however, I despise that I am restricted to controlling the swords when the opponent could easily affect me directly, instead of facing the swords at first, as I could lose control and they, would turn back to it, and fall to the ground. I would use it in close range, and when faced with a foe trying to use an Earthen defense."

Okabe says, as he prepares himself for the next technique.

"Aha! A simpler technique. ( Raiton: Denki Railanshō ) - Lightning Release: Electric Discharge Palm, requires one to focus one's Lightning chakra to your hand, and slam said hand onto the ground and cause the Lightning to discharge. This discharges through the ground, and sends bolts of Lightning coursing outwards in an omni-directional manner from the point of impact up to 5 meters around. A great all rounder technique where one could use it defensively, to take down a nearby Earthen structure, or foe, who comes too close. Offensively, as you come towards the ground, and quickly shock a person or simply, lie to them that it might be an Earth based technique! Its range limits it greatly, and as such, one can't really affect a person far away, and touching the ground when so close to the opponent isn't the smartest move. However, omni-directional is quite cool, meaning it doesn't sprout in one direction but covers all around you and acts as a good way of getting rid of underground foes if they do emerge. I'd use it in battle when I am faced with some structures emerging, or I just want to quickly shock my opponent. One could also use the crouching movement to perhaps dodge a kunai when it is thrown, and retaliate with some Lightning, no? Zhehahaah. The ideas coursing through my head are quite a few. I think I need some Dr Pepper drink."

Okabe reaches into his lab coat, taking out a small brown bottle with a red label. DR PEPPER is written on it.

A simple defense for weaker earth jutsu and also against advancing enemy. Quick and easy with only one seal.

Okabe nods his head in reaction his sensei's orders, and he was now more than ready.

"Alright! Here we go again, (Raiton: Raiton no Heki ) – Lightning Release: Lightning Release Wall. Ideal, since it merely requires a single hand seal and by utilizing one's Lightning chakra, and holding your hands forward, one will release a wall of Lightning. This can be quite great since it allows one to take care of incoming opponents, especially ones that plan to engage in Taijutsu or simply come in very fast. Its quite basic and doesn't restrict me from using directly afterwards, unfortunately, its merely short range. I actually like the technique, though its very situational as to where I will use it...hahaha. Thinking about it, if someone were to blast Water through the Lightning wall, it might even shock me on the other side. Hm, peculiar. Earth projectiles would be rendered null against this wall, so there's another use for it."

Okabe then clears his throat, as he goes on.

"Ooh, (Raiton: Reijingu Sandā) - Lightning Style: Raging Thunder, another cool one. With this one, one doesn't even need hand seals! And it doesn't form a wall, it forms, a DOME. So much better. and not only does it shock the opponent, but it also pushes them back. This might be an area to explore with my own utilization of the Lightning element..hm. Nonetheless, it would be great to use against an incoming Taijutsu technique, or simply running towards the opponent and suddenly push forward this dome of Lightning to hit the opponent back and also deal some shock based damage. This can be used to destroy an incoming Earth construct or one that is blocking your path, or it could be used when the opponent is a narrow area and you force them to a corner, and release this, leaving with no way out. Nonetheless, its still pretty basic and its also just Short range, making it kind of eh. Definitely would use, if I ever do fight...Sensei, maybe me and you should take a bout, zhuahahahaha!!"

Okabe realized that he was in for a world of pain, based on the look of this man, and decided to rather just finish doing what he does best, and cover the technique at hand.

"This technique, (Raiton: Sandā Sāburu) - Lightning Style: Thunder Saber, can be quite useful. Thinking about it, I can only think of how punching someone in the face with Lightning focused around my fist would completely...destroy him. However, I'd barely get a chance to do that, so thinking about it, not only does it enhance one's Taijutsu but can also be used to literally punch through objects of an Earthen nature. Its usefulness can quickly turn dark, if the opponent somehow manages to blast you with Water whilst your hand is charged with Lightning. One of the elements one should be careful with in general, especially if close to the opponent. Much like the previous techniques, its short range and very limiting in some situations. I really like these new additions to my arsenal though, muahahaha."

Rasing your hand or weapon to the air you send an electrical charge to the air which strikes down at a location of your choice. Quite the quick move and good to combo with attacks from below..

Once they rise, they unleash a barrage of lightning bolts, currents and shocks to whatever is inside, paralyzing, shocking and damaging the target from all around.

Using your lightning chakra you shape the earth itself raising 4 pillars that surround the enemy, then unleashing an array of raiton attacks to severly hurt, shock, and paralyze your opponent. Nice technique.
(Raiton: Kangekiha) – Lightning Release: Wave of Inspiration

Description: After doing the Rabbit → Dog → Boar → Ram → Rat hand seals, the user generates a large amount of lightning from their hands, which can then be either released in an unfocused manner or passed through conductive materials to improve the electrical power of the technique, namely in conjunction with Water Techniques. In fact, certain users have showed that its possible to, if the user has the ability to mold both Water and Lightning chakras at the same time (for example, Darui who has Storm Release), unleash this particular technique at the same time as they exhale/spit some water technique (which needs to consist of a stream of water), combining both in a seemingly consecutive move. Other ninjas will need to use a clone or an ally for the same effect.

Sorta like the Emperor shooting lightning out his hands on the Deathstar lol. As you see if you have Yin-Yang release, or the ability to use lightning and water together like Storm release, or use with a clone or ally you can greatly increase the damage done by this combination.

Alright, you know what I want to see.

Things were moving along at a great pace, and Okabe was quite impressed with himself as he was able to actually keep up.

"Alright, next one! (Raiton: Ikazuchi no Kiba) - Lightning Release: Fangs of Lightning, is quite an interesting technique. One will raise their arm, or a weapon to the sky, and manipulate their Lightning chakra. This allows one to blast off a discharge of Lightning, which then triggers a Lightning strike in a certain desired location. Hahahaha, I can already see the benefits of this technique! Firstly, the fact that it comes from above makes it pretty damn useful to almost force the foe into a tight spot when combined with something that comes from below. It also doesn't require a hand seal, and happens quite fast too. So there's that. Other than that, its a simple strike of Lightning downwards, easily dodged or evaded, and can be predicted as the discharge is made, allowing the foe some precious moments to create a counter to it."

Okabe says, his face as serious as ever.

"After that, we have (Raiton: Shichu Shibari) – Lightning Release: Four-Pillar Bind. A technique that adds a bit of diversity to your usual strike or blast of Lightning, and actually using one's Lightning chakra to shape pillars of the Earth, makes sense since Earth is weak to Lightning. These pillars then enclose the opponent, and unleashes its Lightning stored within it! This shocks the foe caught inside it, making it very valuable to use when trying to trap your foe. The fact that it can be used up to Long range makes it very useful too, combine it with some water to get yourself a fried foe, haahaha."

Okabe squints his eyes as he goes for the last technique.

"Now, for (Raiton: Kangekiha) – Lightning Release: Wave of Inspiration. More of a combination technique, where it adds some power to a Water technique by electrifying it, in an essence. This is done by unleashing a wave of Lightning from your hands, after forming some hand seals that I must say are a bummer, for a technique that is meant to actually enhance others. I digress though, my foes will feel the power of my electricity as it runs through a conductive material and fries them, hahaha."

Okabe says in a near manic manner.
