I mean it stated to revive the dead. But under what condition?

Even from decapitation?

Even if the body destroyed?

I mean cmon now that would be torture to come back in a busted body that wont function.

It will revive anyone, no matter the shell's state. But that doesn't mean that they will stay alive. Rinne Tensei is essentially re-writing the association of the soul back to the world of the living from the Pure Land, and placing it back in its body.

I'm sure they'd come back in perfect condition.

What about Madara? His edo body was made of toilet paper(maybe).

Can you remember what lays beneath the debris? A corpse.

Kabuto went grave robbing and rigged Madara's DNA so he would have the combo of a young body and the Rinnegan. Kabuto knew the basics of Tsuki no Me, so I personally believe he used Madara's corpse for convenience of the plan.

Since Rinne Tensei summons souls, you could also believe that it will summon the body. Or, that the soul re-attributes the person's features and capabilities to whatever body, or that the Edo shell was given life.

How is it haxxed when you're basically trading one life for another? :sigar:

Nagato traded his life for hundreds of lives.

This jutsu may have something to do with the outer path that absorbs your soul, its reviving mecanism is a bit more complex than edo-tensei.

The dimension you're looking for is Jodou "Pure Land". It is indeed similar to Edo Tensei, but rather than just having the soul temporarily bound, it's affiliation is essentially "re-wrote" to the living world once again.

Yep, you're right, toilet paper, but not toilet paper alone, you have to put toilet paper all over the corpse of a living shinobi that has to die in the process, the soul of the DNA sample is summoned into the corpse with an access to unlimited amounts of chakra (does it come from the pure land?).

Rinne tensei seems a bit different than edo tensei, it seems to put Madara's life force into the dead corpse inside the toilet paper covering that already contains the soul.
Is there a Databook translation for this jutsu?
Outer path clearly absorbs something different than the souls of edo tensei, it looks like flesh, like if it was eating life force.
We saw many times that the soul can stay in the body after its death for a certain amount of time (Gaara, Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Hinata...).
And everyone that has been revived by edo-tensei had still his soul in his body (Madara, Hinata, Kakashi...).
Chiyo revived Gaara using her life force combined with Naruto's.

It seems that Outer path manipulates the life force and edo tensei the souls.

It could be very important when you have to save a very important person, and you have the capability to do it. That's what makes it hax. For example, Naruto dies and Sasuke uses Rinne Tensei to revive Naruto, it does take Sasuke's own life but otherwise Naruto would've never been able to be revived if it weren't for this technique. How is a technique that gives you back life (no matter what it takes in exchange) not hax?
