Surely if humanity is doomed there's no hope for individual safety?

Nope. If you sacrifice humanity for safety then it all depends on safety for whom and from whom. Eventually lack of humanity will lead to wars again

Keeping our humanity guarantees safety if all humans kept their humanity there would be no wars, terrorist attacks, poverty etc. Humanity and safety go hand in hand

some ppl have no idea y human is a social creature ... when u live with a family humanity serves far greater purpose .... anyways the op should have made it clear safety for WHO ?? killing someone to save hundreds or thousands is also humanity remember that ....

Saftey is an illusion. For governments safety is code for control. Problem,reaction,solution.....Better question is how long is it going to take in the age of the internet for the masses to wake up to the game the world powers have been playing for a very long time. Not very long in my op and they know it. They dont have long to gain total control before their house of cards comes crashing down.
