She was renowned throughout the world for her prowess with genjutsu.

Rasta's point: Sakura could've been linked to Toka through ancestry which would've given her a slight background and an explanation for her genjutsu talents. Basically there could've been a parallel established between them through some type of relation (not trying to make her a full blown Senju).

Tragedy is, Sakura had Senju hype forshadow as far back as Chapter 7 in Part 1. Kishi, just did nothing with it, and never gave her a clan or story about her family or background. KABUTO had more development and backstory (several chapters) to him. And Kabuto was a minor recurring character; who fell off the map after the Land of Grass arc in early Part 2, only to come back later after years of being MIA in the manga.

How does this at all contribute to the Conversation? My thread isn't about characters being underdeveloped, it's about the potential development of 1 individual character. It doesn't take more then 2 neurons to stay on topic lol..

I agree that her genjutsu ability was totally forgotten. Maybe because Kishi later decided that was strictly a dojutsu ability, but who knows.

Kishi could develop many other characters (Shino,Neji,Shikamaru) who are more interesting than sakura but he didn't do it.

however,genjutsu would be a point of development for her.

Kishi said Sakura is an ordinary average Girl,why do you think She paints Her hair pink? And yells like a Banshee. To get attention thats why, in the academy and part I she had no survival skills. People like Naruto,Sasuke and the rest keep having to save Her life over and over. If Tsunade had not train Her She would either wash out as a Ninja or died or got others kill because of Her lack of practical skills.
