I'm no fan of our royal family for many many reasons. Here are just some
- The monarchy is exempt from freedom of information laws - basically they can do as they please. Influence politics, take more from the tax payer etc in secrecy unlike politicians and civil servants who have to be accountable for how they spend PULIC MONEY. How the fck is that tolerated is beyond me!
- The total cost of the monarchy is more than £200m every year. We pay for everything. Including their constant personal travels because they say they are "always on duty". Will and Waity have moved into several grand abodes, re doing each one before getting bored and moving to the next.
- The Queen and Prince Charles can veto bills that affect their interest (Before parliament can debate a bill that's likely to affect the “hereditary revenues, personal property or other interests” of either the Queen or Prince Charles (in his role as Duke of Cornwall), their explicit permission must be obtained).
They have the British media up their arse too. There's no democracy here. Just half way between absolute monarchy and the alternative
