my god you surpassed the definition of stupidity. WHO said there cannot be a change?. IF akira wants to say that frieza is such a extraordinary prodigy then FINAL, are you that pathetic that you cannot accept such a trivial fact?
and if you only go by the manga then you have a LOT of homework to do.
What i am saying is that the change is an asspull.
The very fact frieza can achieve close to Saiyan god powers with 4months of "Training" makes half the plot for DBZ illogical.
Illogcal reason 1:
Frieza destoryed the Saiyan home planet because he feared the Super Saiyan myth. Yet instead of destroying who would become the strongest force in his army, He could of trained for 4 months (or even a week or so). Also with Frieza knowing his potential, Why would he even fear something as weak as a super saiyan in the first place?.
illogical reason 2:
Frieza after getting his ass kicked by a super saiyan, He some how survives restores his body, Yet heads straight to earth to fight again. Yet he knows his potential if he trains, He completely ignores said potential and head right for earth to fight someone he knows if stronger than him
I'm not saying i do not accept the new "frieza is a prodigy" thing but i am saying it is a complete ass pull and illogical. It would of been far better if he introduced a new villian say like cooler who had trained many many years in order to avenge frieza's death or someone else from Frieza's race.
I accept frieza's new found "potential" as it is cannon, Still doesn't change the fact that the DBZ fanboy in me screams how bullshit and asspull it was despite the fact i'm happy that dragonball is getting revived
Not really.
Manga always has been and always will be the most credible source or cannon material. Manga knowledge is all i need to know.

im done, this base apparently hasnt seen a day of light. If your consciousness still exists somewhere then you remember that frieza NEVER bothered or even thought of training for a single moment. Frieza is impatient , therfore the myth of the legendary saiyan never gave him any thought or the worries/need of training.
and now you are telling me that not accepting and saying its completely illogical arent the same thing? smh

The gap with Frieza and the Super Sayain Blue is way bigger than those you mentioned. Frieza at full power at his prime back in the day could rival SSJ Goku. Frieza always feared the Super Sayain Myth and like Exaar mentioned, even when he lost he didn't train before going back to Earth as Mecha Frieaza. Also going by that logic Cell who has the cells of Frieza, Goku and of many others with training should be infinate times stronger than everybody. Training has its limits.

Really, besides Frieza and Tagoma, they should be getting wrecked by Krillin alone. At least you can say that because Tagoma spent 4 months as Frieza's punching bag, he would be able to fight at a semi decent level.
Sure, there's inconsistencies in Tagoma's survival. The Anime is the canon source now, the Manga and the movies are non canon, so officially Tagoma is still alive, as a frog.

It is NOT illogical.
Lets go over some points.
Frieza's henchmen can have trained all these years as well, and thus, have increased a lot in power.
Besides, they are not on the lvl of Piccolo, Krillin etc. because the z fighters were fighting like ~150 of them each and the z fighters were holding their own.
Krillin hasnt been training for a long while, same for Gohan, Roshi is retired and even though this is the case, they were all taking about ~150 of Frieza's henchmen each.
Frieza said that Gohan could easily take out 1000 of them.
Piccolo is the only one I expect to have been training a bit over the years.
Although I am not even sure of that for him.
Frieza being as strong as he is, is not illogical either.
Goku trained in other world, when he was dead. He grew in power over there (reached ssj3).
Why wouldnt Frieza be able to gain power while dead?
Than you can add up the 4 months of training while being alive and his evolution to gold form, which could just as well be something similar to Super Saiyan Blue.

Goku was a special case. It was stated Goku was going to get special treatment and keep his actual body thus allowing him to train and get stronger. I highly doubt frieza would get such treatment.
Plus he hardly looks like he is in any condition to train
