[Theory] "Three Calamities" Theory

So in chapter 808 of One Piece, we find out that Jack (Kaido's right hand man) is one of three people known as the calamities and is also known as "Jack the Drought."

Now while not exactly confirmed, I think it is safe to assume that these three people are basically the highest executives of Kaido's crew/army. They most likely each command a small army with different tasks. Based on what we know of Kaido's objectives and current underlings, it is highly probable that "The Three Calamities" are all Zoan-type fruit users. More specifically, I believe that all 3 will be Ancient class Zoan users. Here are my ideas on the calamities.

1.) Jack. This is already confirmed. Being the first mate of a Yonko with a bounty of 1 Billion Berries and a Mammoth Zoan fruit, Jack should not be taken lightly by any standards. I'm not saying that his bounty directly reflects his strength, but no weakling could manage to get a bounty that high if you ask me. I'm very excited to see his human form and his full battle abilities. I think he will use his tusks rather than a weapon and his trunk is likely capable of doing way more than just smashing things with blunt force. I believe that when the time comes to fight, his fight will be with Raizou. Many people think it will be Luffy but I just don't see a serious fight between those 2 happening for some reason. The buildup for a confrontation between Jack and Raizou has been piling up. Either way, Jack will certainly be a force to be reckoned with.

2.) Currently unknown character with a specifically rare devil fruit. Will probably have a bounty around 650-750 million. While I have no guess as to who this character is, I am willing to bet that he/she might be a Pterodactyl Zoan user. Oda is very careful with his words and mentioned several hundred chapters ago (in Alabasta) that there have only been 5 five devil fruits discovered which grant the ability to fly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we've only seen 2 of these being Pell and Marco. Oda really hasn't touched on the subject in quite a while. It would be awesome to see 1 of the 5 be an Ancient class Zoan fruit. I think this is a very high possibility but let me know what you guys think. I'm betting that Luffy will fight this unknown calamity. Would be interesting to see how the fight goes. Since Luffy can use Gear 4th to fly, it sort of makes sense for this to be the calamity that Luffy fights.

3.) X-Drake. As we've already seen, he is the user of an Ancient Zoan fruit that can transform him into a Tyrannosaurus. Currently, we know for sure that he has been working for Kaido since the time skip. Since he's only been with Kaido a fairly short time, he is most likely the lowest ranking calamity. We have not seen even close to his full battle capabilities yet. I'm sure his hybrid form is a force to be reckoned with. I doubt his bounty is higher than 450 million at this point, but it has more than likely increased from his previous 222 million from 2 years ago. As a hotshot rookie from the worst generation, Kaido probably saw a lot of potential in X-Drake and made him a calamity because of his Ancient Zoan. I think that Zoro will fight with X-Drake in either this arc or the next.



Obviously, if anybody, Luffy also fights Kaido.

Very good theories. Drought, Hurricane, & Flood are very plausible titles. The reason I did not include that was because I just don't see how Jack's mammoth powers could relate to droughts. I would love to see a Megalodon or a Plesiasaur based fruit user. Not too many water fighters outside of fishmen. However, not being able to swim would make those fruits pretty pointless lol

I mentioned Marco. I don't think Shiki's counts because that's not really the focus of the fruit. Technically, yes, Shiki can fly, but so can Sabo and Smoker and a few others by that clause. I think the 5 flying fruits mentioned will most likely all be Zoans. I'm thinking the remaining 3 unknown ones will be the pterodactyl mentioned above, a bat, and something funny and dumb like a seagull or something.

Would be a useless fruit to have a fish fruit that can't get in the water. Would also prevent full transformation because of the gills.

The names have no real correlation to nature. Jack got his nickname because he destroys everything he comes across due to this love for destruction, leaving it looking like it went through a drought. It's a metaphor. I think Drake will be one of the Calamities.

@OP: We've actually seen four so far: Shiki's and Perona's as well, five if you count Doflamingo's.

I think Laffitte has a different devil fruit ability actually. Not too sure about the wings, but I think he may be a relative of Monet or something who was also seen to have both arms and wings. She also possessed a DF that was completely separate from this. The single command hypnotism thing or something that Laffitte used to open the Gates of Justice; I think that might be linked to Laffitte's devil fruit.

I think Perona can only fly in her astral form like when she makes herself into a ghost basically. Otherwise, she probably wouldn't have ran away from Usopp. I personally would say that doesn't count since her real body is not flying. I already addressed Shiki's above. I also don't think that counts in Oda's list because it indirectly allows him to fly. Otherwise, you could also count Luffy, Sabo/Ace, Caesar, Robin, Smoker, and others and that's way more than 5. Actually, they all count. There are more than five because:

1. Pell could have just been wrong.
2. At the time, the series wasn't supposed to spread as long, but because it has, that was retconned
3. Not all DFs are cataloged and discovered.

Well, I explained my theory about Laffitte in my previous comment though I'm not sure how solid it is Again though, Kishi is very specific with his words, so we'll have to wait and see I guess! Maybe he just meant there are 5 flying Zoans? Cuz there are totally more than 5 non-Zoan flyers. Though there was a 3rd flying Zoan revealed technically, it's like you said; not all of them get recorded. That one lady from the Tontatta tribe (forget her name) had a hornet based Zoan but I don't think that's part of the list either since it has probably been passed down through the Tontattas since they live on Green Bit (has lots of plant life for DF to respawn when user dies.) If the list still holds at 5 & is comprised of flying Zoans, I think the only 2 we've seen are Pell and Marco.

I think I covered all those points in my previous comments. If you counted non-Zoans, we already have more than 5. There's Buffalo, Nico Robin, Luffy, Sabo/Ace, Smoker, Caesar, Shiki, and a few others. If Oda still plans to uphold that list, the 5 will probably all be Zoans; the likes of which we've only seen 2 in Marco and Pell.

I think that there is a difference between Devil fruits that have their main ability focused around flight, like a bird zoan. And people like Ace and Doflamingo who use their ability to 'fly' because neither are really flying. Doflamingo uses sky path(? not sure about the name) to connect his strings to clouds, and Monet's wings aren't a confirmed side effect of her fruit. I thought her wings and legs were given to her by Law.

I think a lot is up to the interpretation of the DF user to develop certain abilities. If you give someone like Luffy Robin's fruit he would never learn to fly with it but develop a very direct combat style.

So I wouldn't count a lot of paramecia to that list of 5.
