If you haven't seen or at least read about Boruto: Naruto the Movie, then here's the best brief description of scientific ninja tools that I can give you off the top of my head: they're simply weapons that contain jutsu in them.
If that's not enough for you, just Wiki it.

So, would you consider using them in battle despicable? Or is using them a fair and wise thing to do?
Yeah, the jutsu aren't the person's (can't even say "shinobi's" because normies could use them, too) own, but it's not like shinobi make their own kunai, smoke bombs, swords, etc

With how much technology has advanced in Naruto, I could imagine jet packs and whatnot being utilized to fight shinobi who possess the ability to fly using their own techniques.

So will technology being used in battle disgrace the traditional shinobi way of fighting?

I know I'm putting a lot of thought into this, but with the new series revolving around Boruto and his generation coming out in the future, I think this topic is relevant.

I agree with the movie that it shouldn't be used in ninja exams, but for missions and stuff I think it's a great thing to use. You get access to a wider range of jutsu that could come in handy in all kinds of situations and you can preserve your own chakra for emergency situations

Well said. Agree for the most part. It's just that I think that using other people's jutsu is pretty lame. Idk, guess it's a pride thing for me.

I agree with that too. I thought about this after I posted and was too lazy to add it back in, but I personally don't care for them. I feel like it'll lead to a generation of entry-level fodder ninja who are too busy playing ninja with their toys than actually training their own power. The idea of relying on someone else's power over my own isn't really appealing

Damn. Well said again lol I didn't think about how lazy scientific ninja tools would make people. It'd be like how IRL older generations talk crap to us younger folk for relying on our phones, laptops, etc too much.
The world would never produce more hard-training ninja like Lee. Boruto's generation would likely be the last respectable gen because Naruto's gen is still present and influential.

Yeah. They're legit.

No different than what is already possible.

In the Naruto universe, it would be wise to use them on missions. In organized competition or exams, it should not be allowed.

However, I don't like them. I wish Kishimoto would not have created them. In the end, he showed that real ninjutsu brought about by the fruits of training is dominant, which is good, but I just don't like the idea of any random person wielding stuff like that with no work at all. The fact that a new Genin who has trained hard with shuriken/kunai/clone jutsus might be defeated by some fool using fire release in a mini scroll that he got for his birthday is BS.

I think it's a great concept and could be used to build tension.

In theory non-ninja could use Ninjutsu...but in practice...People spamming others jutsu can be tempered by the fact that Ninja would still be stingy with their clan secrets(The scientific guy was a special case because of his position). So, it'd be a case of someone storing jutsu they already know...letting them exceed their Chakra limits (but only having access to the scale of jutsu they could already perform.

Technically, a traditional way of Shinobi fighting should be 'get the Job done by any means necessary'
I couldn't care less about Honor in a Ninja Manga:scorps:
