Basic Information  Name: Cloud Strife | クラウド・ストライフ Nickname: Ex-SOLDIER Gender: Male Age: 23 Clan: - Looks Cloud is of average height with a lean and toned build. He has spiky blond hair which features spikes, and he has blue eyes. During his time as a samurai serving under a secret infantry corps, he wore the standard uniform of his squad; indigo pants with a sleeveless shirt, and a belt. He wore brown boots, gauntlets with a pauldron over his left shoulder and a SOLDIER band on his left wrist. This is the uniform he wore for most of his other appearances, with slight variations. He has a silver earring in his left ear. He also carried a weapon known as the Buster Sword, a massive broadsword which served as his preferred method of offense. After retiring, Cloud's appearance changed. He wears a high collar sleeveless black shirt, black pants and boots, and black cloth covering his left leg and arm. Cloud gains a new pauldron, and his chest is covered by two straps, held in place by a badge representing Fenrir, a wolf that has come to be associated with him. Like the rest of his friends, he wears a pink ribbon around his left arm in remembrance of Aerith Gainsborough, though it stays hidden beneath the cloth. On his back is where he sheathes his other trademark weapon, the Fusion Sword, which is the replacement of his old Buster Sword. Personality During his time as a Samurai, Cloud has the cocky and selfish attitude that he believes a soldier should have. However, this was a personality created out of not having one as a child. A fake one, so to say. The real Cloud is open-minded and cares about the bonds he has forged with his friends. However, after his battles against his arch-nemesis, a former comrade in the Samurai organisation, Cloud becomes sombre, tormented by guilt over what he perceives as his past failings to save those he cares about. Distancing from his friends and living alone, Cloud tries to keep his affliction secret. Cloud faces his past both metaphorically and literally, and with the shows of loyalty from the friends he tried to let go he comes to forgive himself and moves on. It is unclear what this ultimately means in terms of his personality and lifestyle. Cloud remains steadfastly loyal and true to those he cares about and is driven to protect them, going as far as to hide his pain and emotions so he would not worry them. His selfless and kind nature lets him overcome Sephiroth time and again. Cloud has a lighter side, and a dry, ironic wit. And overall, while Cloud has a moody demeanor, his personality is not as brooding as that of Vincent Valentine. He had aspired to become a SOLDIER, but instead was made an infantryman. After a series of events which are now only remembered by few, Cloud left Shinra and became a wandering Samurai, doing odd jobs here and there. Even delivery services. He had become a recluse, and barely made contact with anyone. The only people which he spoke to, which even then was rare, were the friends he had made through the events that transpired previously during his life as a Shinra soldier. Wherever he stayed, it wasn't for long. He vanished without a trace, simply moving to wherever his jobs or boredom took him. At an unknown point in time during his days of wandering, Cloud had joined Konoha.
