Y'know. I've been reading Bleach for some time now (rarely watched the anime) and I finished Naruto. And I noticed that these Author are both influenced by Akira, but have completely different styles.

Kishi:
Low stamina. His fights started out cool and technical, but towards the end they got short and simple.
Moderately cultured. There are lots of hidden gems in Naruto from Chinese, Japanese, Welsh, Greek, and Western Mythology
Personal. Kishi paints a vivid picture of himself and his views through some of the actual consistencies of the manga
Akira's influences? Dense, but OP protagonist. Love-Hate rivals. Detailed depictions of martial arts.

Kubo:
High stamina. All fights are long, intricate, and feat-rich
Heavily cultured. He uses cultural refs to help keep the story cohesive. Cheating? I say smart.
Non-personal. We can tell Kubo has ties to WW2 and he loves swords, but his manga doesn't tell me much else about him except that he's pretty creative.
Akira's influences? Blindly virtuous protagonist. Enemies that defeat themselves. Antagonist-turned-rival.

Isn't it interesting how two people with a common influence can develop totally different styles from it?

:wut:

LOl so pulling shit out of your ass since day one is now called being creative, okay XD Also, Kubo's fights are extremely repetitve, Kishi at least tries to be creative, it's not always the same again and again power-up vs bigger power-up till the end. Yeah the quality of the manga declined towards the end but Kubo's story once Aizen was defeated, it crumbled into ruins.

This guy use God's hands as opponents. Who else ever thought of something like that? I'm not saying Kubo is better than Kishi, I just find it interesting that they both have the same influence, but two completely different styles.

I just disagree on what is the definition of "creativity". Using mere hands is not creative, is just oversimplified and is used out of boredom to actually really think about something good, he might have as well used a pencil lol.

What they both share though is their terrible writing. So maybe the influence helped?
