That's possible. Jaco is seen talking to Goten and Trunks in the new episode that comes out tonight. Jaco says time travel is a huge offense in the galactic universe in the movie, so I can see this working out through a brief cameo if they use Jaco. No way he's in the tournament, like some fans want.
