The OG user can be anywhere in a 360 around Guy plus up somewhere high, underground. Screw it. The original could flee with 12 or so clones in different directions and they can just spam more and more clones as the original flees the battlefield/gets counter summoned entirely.

If Minato flees, it's irrefutabely a win.

Obito can just send his body to the kamui dimension while Guy burns to death.

Best case scenario, Guy takes his opponent out with him. He can never win, physically with 8th gate in a 1V1 without Godly intervention afterward.

But Guy wouldn't automatically be in 8 gates his opponent has to battle him from start to end and Guy is no slouch and he has up to the 7th gate to battle before it's suicide. In all scenarios it's close. Guy is only activating the 8th gate as last resort at which point his opponent is probably at the very least winded/tired.

If Minato flees prior to 8 gate activation it's a loss but after it's a W just like the Deidara and Sasuke fight. Seasick fled Deidara suicide attacks and he lost so I understand what you're saying.

Yeah but you have to get past the edo's to get to the caster who is most likely hidden & Gai has no way to find them if it's the Kabuto situation anyway.

So now ninja are cowards who would bail from a fight right at the start? Nothing says the gates have to open in order or that there's a time frame to opening them. Your sentence seems to hint that you think you have to open gate 1 rest open gate 2 rest etc. etc. and that's not the case. Guy can jump straight to 8 if he had/wanted to. Pretty sure it should go without saying this list doesn't count Edo's. And Itachi can get wrecked when guy watched his feet.

He merked on Madara and came close to killing him and that's an incredible feat considering it was a 1v1 spar. I'm having a struggle pondering this

Madara was playing. He said as much to him, and stopped flying out of his reach. He couldn't have just kept on going, until Guy's "flame" burnt out.

RSM Naruto was hitting Madara much easier despite the latter being serious, so:

RSM Naruto > Hachimon Gai
RSBM Naruto > ""
RBSM Naruto > ""
RG Sasuke (any age) > ""


Apart from those two plus the Otsutsukis, he is.

His opppnent literally commits suicide as soon as he opens the 8th gate. The battle is already won at that stage. Exactly, you dodge or evade in a fight. Minato lives & Gai dies anyway. W/e you say XD

This is a special case. Guy is a ticking timebomb as soon as he opens that last gate. It's a 1V1. Not a mission obejective like Minato has to protect a sweet shop or something.
