Although Marijuana can be considered less worse than some other drugs, its negative effects on the organs are not to be ignored. That isn't the problem for me though; people can do what they want to their bodies, it's their lives. The reason its illegality is important is to provide some kind of protection against its effects on others. It's not foolproof law, but then again, there's no such thing.

Drink driving is enough of a problem without adding marijuana to the list; then there's problems with people growing farms and the smell. And that's significant in the UK, where nearby neighbours end up having their homes stunk out and the like. And with the NHS especially struggling, the last thing they need is more of a load to bear.

So stench is enough of a reason to make a plant illegal for use? The strong smell occurs when people are forced to harvest underground, growing hundreds of plants in a confined space.
