SS would cause more damage. Half of that energy is because of SS, but instead of it being spread out, it's all focused on an area equal to the size of the Full Kyuubi's body. The amount of energy disparity between Gai's attack and Hashirama's attack is so ridiculous that the focus Night Guy has isn't going to let it do more damage. It wouldn't be extremely far off though. Just not close, and definitely not stronger.

Hashirama isn't like the kages that were living during Kakashi's time or even Dai's time.

When Kakashit made that statement, he was referring to the CURRENT Kages, Hashirama is above the level of those kages
