Saying Byakugan sees trough eye lids is dumb since:

-No proof it does. No light enters the eye when the eye lid is down.

-If it does, then it's not a counter for genjutsu

I'm just repeating what's been said in many threads before. It can clearly see through skin and bodies. It can see almost 360 degrees. It wouldn't be eye contact. You can go back and look at places where this has been argued many times over or ask drae to come and write you an essay on it but im not that deep into the byakugan

Itachi's genjutsu require eye contact. Whether it be with his eyes(standard 3t gen) or his hand (over hyped finger gen) if the person's eyes are closed then it's useless.


It's literally no different from kabuto seeing with his eyes closed.

They're saying Hiashi needs to make direct eye contact with Itachi's eye or finger but with his Byakugan he can still see through his eyelids but it would be xray vision of Itachi's body with chakra points, no direct eye contact or of the physical body. But if Hiashi can still get into Genjutsu by just looking at Itachi's chakra points at his eyes (if that's a thing) is another topic.

....you have a point...well done sir. But maybe It could be reverse and Itachi can cast him in genjutsu making "eye contact"with Hiashi so maybe it won't work.
