You're forgeting that you were doing Mud jutsu first. And don't forget that Teca exploded infront of you, not very far. All of those would take you alot of time until you actually start the Underground projection technique. That's more then enough time for you to be fatally trapped on the spears, even if the arrow takes more time to get to you. I never said I waited for the arrow to arrive, I simply shoot and poped the spikes.

In my opinion Eddy blew himself up with the mud explosion. When he jumped to the ground and Teca used fang over fang he said he created a mud tornado from in front of him. This indicates that there is a source of mud directly in front of him, and since its been raining the whole battle there is most likely mud beneath him as well. Then on top of that he used the flash flood technique which would only add to the amount of water on the battlefield, thus adding to the amount of mud.

With this much mud around/in front/underneath him I don't see a possible way for him to escape his own blast. And you can't use the UGFP as the same time as using the mud explosion IMO. Even if it doesn't require hand seals it still requires you to focus chakra on something and carry out the move. You wouldn't be able to focus chakra for the UGFP technique AND the mud explosion at the same time. So since you chose to do the mud explosion first, which from my understanding is almost instantaneously carried out, there would be no time to fully submerge your body beneath the ground before the explosion happened.

And as for Lili she is currently in a tree so I don't think the blast would kill her.

Ok, I've checked this fight through.

As far as I can see, Liliana shot Eddy with her bow well before he was able to use the Mud Jutsu. And because he was preparing to use the Mud Jutsu (and because he was leaving an opening by doing so), he is, by the battle rules, legally unable to block or avoid the incoming arrow.

Even if he managed to use the Mud Jutsu, there was mud ALLLLLL over the ground from all of the rain that he used earlier, and there was extra mud in his immediate location because of Liliana's previous mud jutsu.

So, even if Eddy was able to use the Mud Jutsu (which he wasn't), all of the ground around him would explode, and then the tree trunks around him would explode, causing all of the trees to fall on him. If he went through with the Mud Jutsu, the arrow would have hit him anyway. So he'd be dead in three different ways simultaneously.

Liliana, as an expert archer, would certainly have the speed to fire off the arrow before Eddy uses the Mud Jutsu, and arrows move a LOT faster than you'd think. Liliana's vision would not be impared enough by any smoke on any tree, and because Eddy spread his arms (and because Eddy has to say the names of his jutsus), Liliana would easily identify his location.

And even if her arrow DIDN'T hit him, he'd be dead because of his own jutsu.

Sorry, Eddy, but I've got to give this one to Liliana. A very interesting battle, if short... I would've liked to see more.

How fast is the Mud Explosion ?
Underground is literally 2-3 seconds (not faster then kagero)

Well, considering it's not clear whether or not he was able to get his Mud Jutsu off in time, and considering that he would be dead either way but that your fox would be dead in only one scenario, I think that we can take lesser of two bad situations and assume that you shot Eddy with your arrow before he performed his mud jutus, killing him in the process.

I'm pretty much sure that the Spear jutsu is considered fatal. I'm waiting for your move nonetheless
