there was a thread showing how sasuke kept saying things that kept being proven false later during the war and revolution arc.But I think the stupidest thing he said was calling Naruto lonely after he used the shadow clone jutsu at VOTE 2.At that point naruto had the respect and backing of all the five shinobi villages and the bijuu and all sasuke had was the ghost of the solo king,itachi.the only lonely one, was him

Sasuke thought he was happy being a lone wolf and just said that without thinking. After the fight he revealed he was always envious of Naruto. Being exausted after the fight allowed him to reflect and realize exactly why he was envious. He admired Naruto's ability to connect with many people and make friends.

Everyone was indeed backing Naruto up but officially Naruto is as lonely as Sasuke, they both have no family, they both share the same kind of burden. Sasuke just emphasized that.
