Kiritsugu is a man in his late 20s, with rather unkempt, messy hair. He usually prefers darker clothing, the most common outfit being a loose suit, compiled with a black tie, as most of what he does is usually behind the scenes. Sleep is of little importance to him as he can afford no time to rest, and as a result, his gaze speaks of enervation, yet masks a deep, vitriolic past. He is usually seen smoking a cigarette, and carries a lighter with him too.

Although not very open about it, Kiritsugu wishes to save the world from suffering, to prevent those from the new generation to experience the same suffering as he did. Because of what he had gone through, he longer allows himself any hint of childish needs or desires, and feels no personal gain from acquiring such accomplishments. His obsession, however, was in direct conflict with his desires.
He seems himself as something like a machine, killing off all emotions as they are useless to him. He believes that implying emotions into situations will change nothing and that they are often times the only thing that holds him back. Due to this, Kiritsugu has managed to become completely devoted to any duty without showing any emotional wavering, though he is prone to fall into moments of extreme emotion and despair, sometimes breaking down in the dark of the night, but yet recovering quickly as the sun comes.
Kiritsugu realizes and knows that he will never be the main character of anything, and is satisfied with working in the background. He can only allow himself a tiny, yet sorrowful smile as those that have sought guidance in him eventually move on to pursue their own desires.

♠ Humble Beginnings ♠
His past was a vague one. Killing his mother with birth, Kiritsugu grew up only with his father, who was a self declared "scientist". He researched all kinds of Ninjutsu, fighting styles and the like, but that's all he did, research. He couldn't fight to save his life, but Kiritsugu was different. From a young age, he had the skill to "taste" chakra itself. His father use to tell him a story of the place where he was born, Kirigakure. Apparently, a clan known as the Ganmi, was what gave Kiritsugu his special power.
It hadn't been long until people came to look for this boy with the ability to taste chakra, he would make the perfect spy, the perfect shinobi, the perfect experiment. Kiritsugu and his father fled, leaving their home behind, and his father, all his research, was left behind. The world wasn't fair, and it didn't take long for Kiritsugu's father to fall into a dark abyss of depression and regret. All his research, lost because of his son. His obsession with truth and knowledge, the self proclaimed scientist of a father, turned towards Kiritsugu for his experiments. It didn't take long for Kiritsugu to overpower his father, killing him in the process.
♠ A Darker Time ♠
Growing up alone wasn't easy, and Kiritsugu developed what one could call, an obsession. An obsession with violence. He couldn't go a day without killing, he couldn't. He got a taste for violence, when he killed his father. A taste that would forever haunt him, and changed his life forever. He had gained the ability to switch off his emotions, but he yearned for violence. Would this taste for violence create a monster, or could his own philosophy of life, that the just must prosper, make him a hero? He wanted to save the world from suffering, but this obsession with violence was in direct conflict with his beliefs..

❧Genjutsu Mastery:
Having spent a large amount of time researching illusions, Kiritsugu became a self proclaimed Genjutsu master. He learned a large amount of skills from various masters, and he is now capable of performing all Genjutsu related abilities with a single hand seal.
❧Sound Mastery:
Kiritsugu combined his Genjutsu mastery with his Sound release skill, in order to effectively create more powerful Genjutsu and using Sound as a medium. This allowed him to use Sound techniques with faster speed.
❧Hidden Rope Art:
After being taught in the ancient Hidden Rope Art by SiWang, Kiritsugu is capable of using his chains with ease. The chains are wrapped beneath his clothes, and can be manipulated mentally with ease (This is done in free form, refer to CFS for more details). Being a master from Iwagakure, Kiritsugu is only capable of using the Earth based variation of Hidden Rope Art techniques, but can channel any chakra into it, different from the Hidden Rope Art techniques.
❧Summoning Tattoos:
Kiritsugu has two summoning tattoos, one on each arm, the Box Jellyfish sigil on his right arm, and a Toad sigil on his left.
❧Bud Rank Ganmi:
Lowest rank among the clan. They possess the clan's inherited ability of Taste Sensory, allowing them to pinpoint tastes and their sources with great accuracy within a radius of 50 meters. They are able to distinguish between different people and animals, and a huge variety of different molecules and elements. They don't have access to Clan's techniques. Can quickly detect high concentrations of foreign chakra in their heads above S rank Genjutsu/Mental techniques, but not foreign chakra in their bodies. The man are referred to as Buds and variants, and the female are referred to as 'Sils or Tonsils. The same connotation are used to refer to people outside the clan, as a mocking/familiar name.
