I just did a few practice books, went through a SAT preparation class over the summer, did some online SAT problems, and I got a decent score. If you've taken classes in geometry, algebra, and pre-calc and you're good with english/writing, then you probably don't have to study much and you can just go in and take the damn thing. You'll probably do well.

I applied to 8 colleges, but I had waivers and maybe you'll get some as well. I heard some peeps in my school had applied to 20+.

Though not required, are you planning to take the Biology SAT?

Either that or the Physics one.

Now this, this is some advice that I appreciate, not what Ciao mentioned.
I asked about tips to get into college and about the SATs, my question wasn't "should I go to college or do something else?"
And the real reason that I want to go to college isn't really to get a good paying job, I just really love biology and I always have. A good paying job would of course be nice to have though.

If you're going to College for a passion that you have, chances are you'll find all the grueling work a lot more enjoyable than if you're simply just trying to manage until your time is over. And hey, if you work hard enough and establish the right connections, it is absolutely possible to find an easy transition from College to a career in the field of your interest.

I'd research what Universities have excellent Biology courses and try applying to them. Or, alternatively [but would cost you more years of your life] go to a community College and then transfer to one of the more prestigious Universities. But again, you'll have to really work your ass off to do that, depending on the University.

Hello there reader.

As I'm going to need to apply for a university/college and do SATs soon, I was wondering if anyone has any tips or words of advice.
I'm getting nervous just by thinking about it.
Also, is it true that people apply to tons of colleges? How exactly does that work? Isn't that way too costly?

Every piece of advice is appreciated :)

unless your mature for your age which I was not at 17 join the military do your four years then use your gi bill for college youll get paid for school then be a few years older and get way more chicks. im a sophomore at UCF which is in Orlando and im very glad I went in the army first, but then again I was a punk stoner in high school so I needed to be straitened out

Just study a bit. For me, I didn't have to practice too much, and my math sat score was always around
800 level. The reading takes some practice, and for the grammar just buy a grammar book for the SAT
and study the rules. Doing that, I went from a 2000 to 2300s pretty quickly.

Why would it take longer if I transferred from a community college to a good university?

I don't think I'm cut out for the army, plus I don't even think that they'll accept a foreigner into the US army anyways.

Sounds like those books sure do help a lot, thanks man.
