How about a user gets to change their name once every 2 years regardless of whether they have premium or not. For example, I will have been a part of NB for 2 years in April, but instead of buying premium, what if I got to change my name because I have been here for 2 years. Thought it would be better for people who don't want to waste money on premium.

With the daily questions/suggestions the mods probably just purposely ignore my threads

If you don't want to purchase premium, you can always try to win a contest, which will also grant you a name change.

Before premium came on board, they would hold username change thingo every six or so months. But the best way to avoid spending money on premium if you don't want, is to try your luck in the many contests. Or ask someone to buy premium for you...
