Orochimaru is not immortal. If you don't give him a body he will die just like the rest of the world. He can also get caught in Infinite Tsuky which renders him dead after the tree transforms him in to WZetsu. If Kaguya destroys the world Orochimaru has no chance of surviving in Space.

Also, Kakuzu he is not immortal also. If he would get new hearts he will live forever as long as there are humans on the planet.

The only immortal in Naruto verse is Hidan who got blown up to pieces and still lives underneath the ground he even survives in space.

I don't see how taking bodies to prolong your life allows one to survive in space or in any other scenario in which he has no body to feed on.

They aren't Immortal either. Shinju is dead allready after Kaguya absorbed it, Bijuu can be killed according to Sasuke, Kaguya can't live without the Bijuu, and White Zetsu's are extremely easy to kill.

I've always thought of immortality as two different possible states, eternal life ("I can't die.") and invincibility ("You can't kill me.")

Orochimaru, for example, is immortal in the sense that he's eternal. He can definitely be killed, sealed forever, etc, by some standard means but in an ideal world of his, he has a means of indefinitely prolonging his life, by living through the bodies of others.

Hidan, for example, is immortal in the sense that he's invincible. It's almost the opposite. He can't be killed or destroyed by regular means, but there have been stated to be ways he can die. Malnutrition was mentioned, and unless it was ever stated that Hidan's Jashinist experiments gave him eternal youth, I assume old age could eventually do him in, too.

People who are resurrected through Edo Tensei are both eternal and invincible. Even though their undead lives are dependent on their summoner, they themselves can't age or be killed/destroyed by regular means, so special measures have to be taken to get around that.

It may just be my bad headcanon, but that's how I see it, at least.
