Anyone know how to throw kunai?

My girl bought me throwing knives for my birthday and I've been trying to make it work but I can't seem too. I checked out the YouTube videos and they all provided methods but none of them worked for me.

Another issue might be the fact that I removed the thread wrapped around the handles because they kept coming loose. Do you think this effected the balance?

The path of the knife can be affected by where you place your forefinger, how tight and where and how you grip the handle, the moment of release, etc.

Hold the front of the knife and not the handle. Then, find a wooden surface and then throw it straight with all your force. That was for a knife, not a kunai. Never got hold of one.
