naruto 699

Not a pairing post but am i the only one who thinks that naruto should have ended on naruto 699 with naruto giving sasuke the headband. now i understand that they have to make the last movie and naruto gaiden and boruto the movie but thats my dream ending without all the pairing drama it was always about naruto and sasuke.

The only thing I liked about chapter 700 is seeing Naruto in Hokage outfit, it almost made me cry :'(. Considering I am not such a 'Hardcore' pairings fan, I didn't really even care if it was hinata or not.

the only thing we know naruto is going to become hokage we could have got a special chapter like with kakashis face.Naruto a 17 is to immature to become hokage

And another thing instead of 700 kishi could have extended the valley of the end fight and 699 would become 700

Nah, I really liked 700. Ending on the rushed Team 7 resolution with Kakashi as Hokage? Nah. I care more about the other side characters than Team 7 and so was on that.

final point on the matter is since the war arc you could tell what the pairings were going to be so we didn't need pairing resolutions

End the series with 699, Release the Last, show "700" in a gaiden series compiling the future of different characters and end it all with Boruto the Movie.

699 was the end to the actual story, 700 was there to show us what happened to the rest of the characters. And to set up the Boruto movie, of course.

699 was the end of the manga - from the opening image and the title of the chapter to the return of Sasuke's headband- it very much felt like the planned ending.

700 was promotional material for everything that happened since.
