There are a lot of people who enjoy the anime over the manga.
There are a lot of people who would actually be interested in these fillers.

Agreed here. Some filler episodes I like. But usually I am slow to get around to watching them. I got my mother into Naruto, and she's anime-only. She doesn't want to read the story, she wants to watch it. My friend is the same. So my mother will watch the filler episodes with no problem, and wants the anime to continue for a bit rather than ending soon.

Naruto is not a cash cow. It could be, but kishi isn't letting it be one. But that doesn't mean the animators aren't greedy farmers, trying to molest the anime for its content to sell.

SP is clearly going to make a filler out of any character's dream. They are just trying to milk the series so the anime only viewers won't be as upset when it is over. There is only a little cannon ground to cover lmao so they are dragging it.
