What is Hip Hop? This generation knows nothing about it. Therefore, they are runing it themselves.

What is it so necessary that hip hop stays in "the streets"?

Because moving something from where it was born lessens the value of the genre or changes it into something with less meaning all together, hip hop was always meant to provide messages for those growing up on hard times in the ghetto sense. Moving hip hop to rapping about the success and money and *****es that come with the fame only basically softens the genre along with killing the meaning behind it.

You wouldn't understand unless you're a true hip hop fan though smh.

You know nothing about Hip Hop. SMH Let me school you....

1. Hip Hop stays evolving.

2. Its about expressing yourself - letting your voice be heard. Anybody can be a rapper.

3. Hip Hop is not just an art, its whatever you what it to be.

Drake easily. He doesn't represent hip hop, he represents pop culture and people just can't understand that.

You don't need to "shake your head", I was asking a question.

And no, I don't believe an entire genre should be confined from the streets because it originated there. It can grow and expand freely, it's music, and you don't decide what is and isn't proper hip hop.

The streets are a bad place to be, why stay there?

Hip hop cannot be ruined, the stuff that is hip hop will remain hip hop! That which is not hip hop, isn't even hip hop, so how can it ruin what hip hop actually is? It can't! Real hip hop thrives and survives forever no matter if it's considered underground or mainstream.

Because its not a choice...can the people in the projects just up and say "hey im sick of living in fear of death every day lets all go somewhere else" ? No they can't and Drake lessening the message that used to be convyed through music is basically stealing the spotlight for his own greed, now less people will understand the problems people go through in less off places. Because hip hop has now been tainted with "***** money *****es" persona smh and now everyone believes that if you're a gangsta thats what you're getting but drake completely removes the "thug" part out of hip hop anyways. You literally can not justify the good he does.
