My crazy theory

Not sure if This idea/half-assed theory has been said yet but here it is
What if starting from the Infinite tsukiomi naruto was actually caught in it and the story following after that was all his dream.since the story is from Narutos perspective and the dreamer sometimes can't tell he's entered the dream (like bee), it wouldn't be too off to assume than naruto would have easily been caught in the IT and not been able notice its fake which would not of allowed us viewers to see that it was all a dream. This would explain how kaguya magically appears and asspull no jutsus start to happen like bz soloing and kakashi ps because it was Narutos dream which we have seen that the dreams of People tend to be lucrative as such. The fact that naruto was able to defeat kaguya and have sasuke rejoin sounds like an ending that naruto would want to occur. Therefore, the entire gaiden, and kaguya arc was all a dream starting right when sasuke's sosanoo "saved" team 7 and that IT is still going on with madara ruling over the world...
Just some food for thought.obviously the manga didn't turn out like that but interesting to see that there is a possiblility that it could have

OT: I don't think anything particularly undesirable for Naruto happened ET was cast. He even got his wish of understanding Sasuke through fists.
