The Uchiha clan would have gone through with their coup. Most, if not all, would most likely have been killed anyway, seeing as, thanks to Itachi, Konoha's government had intel on the Uchiha's plans and ample time to prepare countermeasures in the event that the coup actually went through.

But regardless of whether or not the Uchiha's coup was successful, Konoha as a whole would be left weaker, opening up the possibility of Itachi's fears being realized and other villages taking advantage of Konoha's instability to start another world war.

if itachi doesnt pick a side: the uchiha rebel, all the uchiha are killed, sasuke and itachi included, so team 7 has to put up with shino instead. during the chuunin exams, kakashi trains naruto himself instead of jiraya, and everyone is killed when gaara releases shukaku.

if itachi sides with the uchiha: Itachi becomes the 5th hokage, team 7 is as usual, but sasuke is a lot less emo. orochimaru doesnt go after sasuke, and doesnt attack konoha, so sasuke is just some average uchiha. kisame and Tobi show up to capture naruto. itachi attempts to stop kisame and tobi, but is unable to beat both of them. naruto is captured, itachi is dead.

if itachi sides with konoha: Itachi still becomes 5th hokage, but sasuke and all the other uchiha are dead. shino joins team 7, orochimaru doesnt attack konoha, tobi and kisame show up, and everyone dies.

Couldn't Gai beat Shukaku. He can beat Kisame and Tobi if he goes 8th gate. But Tobi can troll him by camping in the Kamui dimension or attack him first.

Not really it was only the hokage kakashi the elders and root who would have been prepared

Via itachis warning he could have lied to them and set shit up to wear the clan had an advantage

If shisui sided them that's another way of winning all in all danzo with izanagi is the only threat

Many forget looking an uchiha in the eye is not good if you are not like naruto

Gai cannot use the gates in the village he would have destroyed buildings and hurt innocent people in the process

Most likely the clan was going to target the hokage and the elders and declare they would rule only clan close enough to standing up to them would be the hyuuga but remember they have the branch clan who could use that as a chance of rebelling against the main branch

In a scenario like this I can see the uchiha winning or it being a draw both sides hurt bad but regardless of the outcome


Itachi would have taken sasuke and fled the village if he still chose not to help

With Obito on side and shisui Uchiha curb stomp Konoha. I'm sure the clans would fraction to one side or the other. Once Obito unleashes the 9 tails it's over for Konoha. Either that or against overwhelming force Konoha compromises to preserve the peace.
