What's your opinion on the High School Teacher-Student relationship epidemic?

We hear about them every week and we all know the vast majority of them don't get caught.

I've noticed that the news media tends to ignore male teachers and only focus on attractive female teachers. Despite the fact that males do it far more often. Probably because it generates more of a reaction(luckiest kid in America!). I also noticed people try to argument that there is a double standard where men gets decades in prison. Even though the statistics and common sense both say that those numbers are pulled out of the asses of people who love to complain for the sake of complaining.

Anyway do you think this stuff is even news worthy anymore? I don't, unless there was something truly unique about the case, otherwise same old same old. Been happening since Ancient Greece and just a part of human nature.

Either way the teacher is an authority figure and can use their position to pressure students into relationships. The same reason applies to why bosses shouldon't have relationships with their subordinates.

Besides that there is a such thing as statutory rape. If teachers are to be trusted with the educating of students the last thing a parent wants to think about is that their teacher's main objective is to get into their child's pants.

Teachers that have sexual relationships with high school students should be fired, branded a sexual predator, and depending on how screwed up their actions they should receive the exacting punitive action

People have a perverted sense of thinking when it comes to this, since they have been exposed to a type of porn culture that fantasizes shit like "hot female highschool teacher" and "hot female highschool student". In either case it makes woman/girl the object and man/boy the subject which is the reasoning why the female part's sexual pursue and male part's sexual submission gets ignored largely by society.

Oh I agree that it should be illegal but isn't necessarily statutory rape. The age of consent is 16 in most states, it's just that teacher-student relationships are illegal regardless of age.

I had a coach who dated his freshmen student, he was 23 at the time, all the way through her high school years. Six months after she graduated they got married and are still married. So I'm not against it, but I don't approve of it either. I think the news uses women to fish for views/clicks.
