I've watched the anime up until sabo is in dressrosa. I just haven't watched it for a while because I kind of fell out of love with it. What makes you watch/read it?

I like the manga's artwork, characters, world building and the mysteries. The anime is meh but it'd be a lot better if Toei had the anime go on a long filler arc or animate the cover pages that are connected to the story.

I love the awful character designs.
Hmmm. That doesn't sound genuine.

It does have a good adventure feeling to it.

I'm emotionally attached. I started OP in the ninth grade and I'm now a freshman in University still reading every week. I literally grow up reading One Piece.
That's a cool answer. Keep reading man.

I've always liked how Luffy has that same gravitational force to make people believe in him/follow him as Naruto does. Just one of many reasons.

Luffy literally gives me emotional and a great feeling when he says stuff.

Naruto, Goku, or any other main character besides Luffy and Light from Death Note only ever did that and that's something speical. Why? Because almost everything is written for entertainment more than anything else which is all typical endings or foreshadows.

One Piece doesn't just deliver entertainment, but emotional appeal as well. When Ace died I cried when Luffy cried... why? Because of his will.. breaking Luffy's will a typical dumb character I admit, but his will is the strongest out of all the big three.

Yeah I think most ppl that love the series have given up on the anime. I watch OP for the story and it's abundance of awesome characters, it make me look forward to seeing them again as well as meeting new characters along the way.
The drama and comedy is good as well, but Luffy as big of an idiot as he is is someone I can look up to and sympathize with. He is just that awesome

I'd also like to add the amount of references this series has. It's really amazing!

I never noticed the adult gon reference.

the feels..

its honestly alot more complex than just "the feels"

But i dont think i could clearly explain why i find the story so significant. Just the level of growth displayed, how the story evolves and folds into place, displaying an even bigger picture. yet still maintaining the integrity of the story's meaning. Its so intricate and creative, taking real life lessons and merging it into a fictional story without losing the meaning. Its such a real display of humanity and the qualities we should be valuing but done in a completely fictional world.

tho thats just my opinion

I've only gotten up to Loguetown and haven't got it in me to actually follow the series & get up to date but damn is it an interesting world.

The world-building and all the mysteries are unparalleled. Also I REALLY like Luffy's design and simplicity. He's the best shonen lead IMO even if i'm barely even a OP fan.

Many reasons, for one ,one piece has one of the most unpredictable plot stories imo when it comes to shounen. Sure there are many animes with more serious mature themes, but one piece is simply more fun.

The concept of pirates to be honest. I've watched a lot of animes and most of them are like high school kind of stuff so seeing an anime about pirate is kind of fresh to me. The main characters are likable, most of them. A sane friendship.

One thing that I don't like is the pace, oh jesus. This is my main problem when it comes to the anime/manga. Thank god it ended because I was not attached to it. I didn't got the feels in this arc.

If someone tells me that there's a new chapter, then I read but I forget it most IF not all the times.
