He used his EMS, were they his? They were Izuna's eyes which awakened Madara's EMS so you can say yes they were Madara's EMS but not his eyes

The only way an EMS can use izanagi is for them to use a transcript seal to implant it in one eye, besides that just EMS has no way of using Izanagi without life energy.
Izanami the users still gets blind and itachi made it clear that it does.

Madara himself had to get izanagi from an outside source in an unknown way.

I'm pretty sure BZ was talking about how Itachi used the seal to have Amaterasu active at a later time; Madara's Izanagi effect didn't take hold until hours to days after Madara died. Madara set conditions for his jutsu to activate as Itachi did is all, Madara bit Hashirama's flesh off in their fight so he had both Senju and Uchiha DNA in him at the time he activated it (the close up on Madara's EMS).

Or Madara simply had Izanagi himself, and made it activate when certain conditions were met. Like what itachi did to Sasuke with Amaterasu, he made it so that Sasuke's eye would use Amaterasu upon seeing Tobi's sharingan.
