Well similar to the OP:
It really does startle me how extraordinarily more lethal so many characters would be if they fought with more finesse. Madara's will, cunning, intellect & craftiness when he was Prime (Mad Vs Hash) stuck in the JJ form would have ended his fight almost immediately. I admire characters who have moderate to very little but are still lethal as they use what they have as an acute & finely honed scalpel. Not OP meat hammers like Naruto, Sasuke, Kaguya or JJ Madara.

It's not about how strong or common a jutsu is. It's about how well and effectively one can use it. Naruto turned his clones in a signature move using so many tricks with it while most of them used it for limited diversion purpose only.

Look at Sasuke- he took a seemingly ordinary Body Replacement Technique to another level when he used it to switch places with Sakura's jacket. A reverse variation.

Tsunade and Sakura can focus chakra in a unique way to enhance their physical blows as well as for finer surgical skills.

On the other hand Hiruzen learned all the skills in Konoha and while he was great and all it didn't prove enough.

I'm not new, I forgot my password for other account. I'm saying Orochimaru can create 4 shadow clones, they all have kusanagi blades, and each can turn into the great white snake. This allows orochimaru to preserve chakra, as when he releases the jutsu or they are severely hit, their remaining chakra returns to him. Ed tensei is also a way as well.
