Yes. Itachi wasn't a moron. He understood what needed to be done for the Uchiha. Considering that he himself helped to slaughter the group. Not saying that he wanted them to die but he obviously had the traits of a great leave shinobi and put his village first and everything else second. He would have also given them a task, maybe not to be police or sectioned them off (even though the hyuuga are sectioned off and nothing was an issue).

Danzo starts talkin shit and steals shisui's eye
Tobirama immediately neg diffs danzo and give shisui back his eye

Tobirama was too straightforward a leader to let someone do his dirty work. He would have owned both the good and the bad.

He would have respected and valued Itachi, and although he would have used Itachi for information, I can't imagine Tobirama letting things fester to the point of a slaughter, but if it came to it, he would not have put that entire burden on a single Uchiha.

Seeing how Itachi was not a standard Uchiha and he followed Danzō's ideals which followed Tobirama's ideals, probably yes.

Very good question i like this indeed. They would have gotten along very well. The two of them were bother very fond of knowledge and just like you said Dr, they would have built a stable Konoha together
