Madara's sword has a incredible reach, it seems like it some sort of energy shockwave slash. Sasuke on the other hand needs to make physical contact using his sword to cut things, Madara just seem to swing it and it obliterates everything in its trajectory.

Just look at that sword in Kurama's hand. Its so small but yet it cuts mountains far away from itself.

This one is better than that. look at middle left panel, the size of the Meteor chunks.

To cut/slice large meteor with wide area larger than his PS size, Sasuke PS sword generated cutting wave similar to what Madara PS did

The slash waves you see are shock waves generated by the movement of susanoo's swords.

Sasuke can replicate and has replicated this feat(and has done better) when he sliced through several of madara's meteorites

You need to remember that meteor size is larger than Sasuke PS size or his sword size. To cut that massive meteor completely, his sword need to generate cutting/shock wave and thats what his sword does.

PS sword be it Madara or Sasuke can generate shock wave for a Miles far

Those Meteor are much bigger than the PS sword. A Shockwave is the only way for a cut that big
