Eighth Hokage

Who do you think would become the Eighth Hokage if Naruto was killed shortly after the events of the Boruto movie?

I say Shikamaru because he's now one of Naruto's advisers and he's extremely intelligent. Asuma even he said that he could be Hokage someday if he didn't find the job to be drag. If he did take office, he'd probably have a similar attitude to Tsunade - constantly complaining about the paperwork, but still doing whatever it takes to protect the village and keeping it running because of the sense of duty he has to people of the Leaf.

Kakashi is definitely physically capable of taking over, since he would be around age 45 at the time of Naruto's death, but I question whether or not he'd be WILLING to take over. If he was the only choice, I could see it happening, but the fact that he retired after being Hokage for less than 13 years just so he could relax and travel shows that he's not really interested.

If you're not trolling, I would honestly love to hear a reason as to why she'd be chosen over her comrades or superiors.

I'd actually place my bet on Sakura. She is the Student of the 5th and 6th Hokage and (I'm being realistic here) aside from Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi, the only other one who has faced Kaguya and lived to tell the tale.


She is also the 3rd strongest ninja in the village currently (no this is not a troll she actually is)

Sasuke just doesn't seem like Hokage material. Not that he lacks the power, but I don't picture him doing paper work all day behind a desk XD

He just wants to chill like Jiraiya but I can see him taking the seat again for the village

Kakashi would have to if Sasuke wouldn't take it.

Times are still somewhat unsettled still around the Boruto movie so it's best to have someone who is as equally respected for their prowress as their leadership skills. And there's nobody alive that's been globally respected for as long as Kakashi.

Candidates I think would be Shikamaru, Sakura, Sasuke if not Kakashi.

Sakura because she is the apprentice of the 5th hokage, who was the grand daughter of the 1st and student of the 3rd. The 3rd was also the student of the 2nd, who was the brother of the 1st. Her master was also said to be equal to the man who was the 4th's master. Sakura is also student of the 6th and teammate of the 7th. And wife of Sasuke and queen to the Uchiha. And has proven her strength and herself as a major asset to the lead village. She is fit to be hokage and is directly and indirectly connected to all the hokage and other strong people further reinforces her credibility.

Shikamaru is just really smart, he should be like a master general. Sasuke is too busy being the man behind the curtain.

He wouldn't. He keeps his "Sixth" title, regardless of how many nonconsecutive terms he serves as Hokage since he was Sixth the first time.

I know. Kind of like how the third was hokage after the fourth died.

I think he meant to imply that Kakashi would take over (using his old title) rather than the village selecting an Eighth Hokage.
